Construction activities start soon

In September, crews will begin construction at Lynnwood Transit Center. You can expect noise, dust, and vibration while crews begin demolition and paving for the new Swift Orange Line station structure. The construction zone will be limited to the east bus bays, where the new station will be located.

Beginning Tuesday, September 6, bus routes serving bays C5 (northbound Routes 107 and 112) and D5 (southbound Routes 402 and 422) will shift to at the transit center. Please follow all posted signage to determine which bay your route has been shifted to.

To stay informed of temporary route relocations, we encourage riders to sign up for Community Transit Rider Alerts.

Route 115, 116, and 120 Stop Relocation

Crews have recently installed new bus shelters at the temporary bus stops on 68th Ave W for Routes 115, 116, and 120. Riders can expect to continue using these stops for the duration of construction.

People biking northbound on 68th Ave W between 204th St SW and 202nd St SW should continue to merge with traffic to navigate around the temporary bus stop platform. The bike lane closure is expected to remain until early-2024 when the transit center is expected to open.

Construction activities continue

Crews are continuing to make progress on the water utility upgrades and forming, pouring and curing concrete sidewalks, curbs, and curb ramps. Crews are also planning to pour concrete for the upgraded parking stalls soon. Sections of the parking lot are expected to reopen early this fall.

McCollum Park

Crews are nearly done with installing the new parking lot south of the McCollum Park Athletic Field. Crews are continuing to install the new temporary bus loading zone in the area. Once the new temporary bus loading zone has been installed, crews will remain in the area to begin construction on the main parking lot, existing bus loop, and changes on Dumas Road. You can expect temporary, intermittent closures for the parking lot and bus loop during construction. The final design for the McCollum Park Park and Ride is on our project website under “Terminal Stations.” Construction is expected to continue through 2023, with major construction in the transit loop beginning in early 2023.
