CTR First Quarter Reports Due April 21
It's time for your first quarter CTR reports for January – March, 2021. They are due by Wednesday April 21 at 5 p.m. You can access the form here.
We appreciate the time and effort you take to thoughtfully complete your reports. We look forward to reviewing them and following up with you with our thoughts and suggestions. Please note there are a few new and updated questions this quarter. We ask about the requirement to share information with your worksite twice per year, as well as if there are updates to your site’s response to COVID-19. Please be on the lookout for these changes and ask us if you have any questions.
 ETC Celebration Recap
We had 26 ETCs attend our ETC Celebration on March 24, where we celebrated your hard work this past year and heard inspiring stories from guest speaker, Jeff Evans. If you were unable to attend, you can still watch the recording here and complete the Advanced Training Hours Survey to get 2 hours of credit toward your 6 required hours for the year. Note that the recording will only be available until May 26, 2021.
The following ETCs are the lucky winners of our celebration drawing and won a gift pack that includes a $50 REI gift card, a messenger bag packed full of commute items, as well as a book from our inspiring guest speaker, Jeff Evans.
- Kathy, Puget Sound Energy
- Kelvin, Edmonds College
- Cheing, Swedish Edmonds
- Chyna, GE Digital
- Alex, Zumiez
If you attended live and have not yet completed the post survey, please take a moment to complete our post event survey. We value your feedback and want to hear your thoughts!
Congrats again and thanks for celebrating with us!
Vanpool Gets Even Greener With New Hybrid Vans
Vanpool is already a green way to travel — taking cars off the road by sharing the ride to work. But that green gets even brighter when you can share the ride in a hybrid electric vehicle. With the first plug-in electric hybrid minivan now available on the market, we are excited to start testing five of these new vehicles with our Vanpool service. The new vans will travel to employer sites that offer charging stations. One of the five vans is traveling to Philips, our CTR site in Canyon Park in Bothell!
See more about these new vans in this blog post and FAQ.

Earth Day + Transportation
Earth Day is April 22 and a common time to have a transportation fair or to promote sustainability, including commute options. Take a look at our Transportation Fair resources under CTR Worksite Program Materials on our ETC Resources page. Here is an official Earth Day page with info and resources you might like to share with your employees. Let us know about anything special you might be doing for Earth Day!

Bike Month is the entire month of May
|
Bike Month is back on for May this year. We will be in touch soon with information about the Bike Everywhere Challenge and resources to promote Bike Month. This year, Bike Month will focus on all trips made on a bike, including commutes to the office, as well as running errands or just for the fun of it. Getting people on their bikes in any way is a great opportunity to form a habit and create another viable transportation option.

Advanced Training Opportunities
Each training program counts as 1 hour toward your 6 required annual training hours unless stated otherwise. To get advanced training credit please complete the Advanced Training Hours Survey once you have watched a program.
April 21, 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. – Preparing for Bike Month (1 hour Advanced Training Credit)
Bike Month will be a little different again this year but don’t let that stop you from promoting it in a way that works for your site! Learn about the Bike Everywhere Month promotions and how you might be able to best encourage your employees to get out and ride their bikes in May, even if it’s just recreationally and not for their commute. Getting folks to ride for other reasons can help them to consider commuting by bike in the future. RSVP here.
April 29, 9 – 9:30 a.m. – Bikes Make Life Better: From Reticent to Regular Rider — Using a Behavior Change Model to Design Effective Bike Programs (1 hour Advanced Training Credit)
Jessica Roberts, Principal at Alta Planning + Design, will show us how Stages of Change theory — an academic model of assessing and categorizing individual desire to change behavior — can help planners and program managers empower more people to ride. More information and register here.
Changing Transportation Behavior: What Really Works? (2 hours Advanced Training Credit)
This webinar also features Jessica Roberts, Principal Consultant at Alta Planning + Design. In this webinar you will learn about the most widely-used behavior change theories, effective use of incentives, learn how to build a logic model, and how it helps you in real-world programs and how to apply these tools in your work. Watch the recording and view the slides and resources here.
New! If you are interested in working with us on a training and sharing information with your fellow ETCs, let us know. We will work with you and you can earn up to 2 hours of extra training credit for your time!
