Transit Center Site
The mechanical building for the transit center is still receiving plumbing, electrical and ventilation work in its interior and masonry on its exterior. Metal roofing is expected to be installed next week.
Over several days next week, half of the 3-acre site will be covered in concrete to create sidewalks, bus lanes, curbs and platforms. The weather is a major factor in determining which specific days the concrete will be poured.
75th Street
A wireless traffic signal control system was successfully installed on the 75th St. traffic signals last week. The signals are expected to be activated in early or mid summer.
Crews will pour concrete late next week for three driveways at businesses on 75th St. east of PUD.
To accommodate the concrete work on 75th St. and on the transit center site, periodic single-lane closures in both directions of 75th St. will continue next week as needed.

 The Swift Blue Line provides bus rapid transit service on Highway 99, serving 29 stations between its terminals at Everett Station and Aurora Village Transit Center. The Blue Line has been in operation since 2009.
Upgraded Ticket Machine Installations Resume
Community Transit has resumed the installation of upgraded ticket vending machines along Swift Blue Line.
Installation work will move south along the route’s southbound stations until the machines at Aurora Village Transit Center are upgraded; then the installations will move north while upgrading the northbound stations.
The entire upgrade project is expected to take several weeks.

Northbound 176th St. SW Station Closed for Repairs
The northbound station at Hwy. 99 and 176th St. SW will be closed April 30 to May 5 to allow crews to repair damage done when a privately owned vehicle struck the station in early February.
Swift buses will service the station about 160 feet north of its regular location, at the stop for local bus Route 101. The stop will be clearly marked. Riders are asked to pay for their ride wherever they get off of the bus by tapping their ORCA card or using the ticket vending machine as usual.
The station will be enclosed in fencing the entire week while crews repair and replace the kiosk, ticket vending machines and electrical panel.

 Expected Rain Postpones Weekend Construction
Expected rain has postponed the installation of in-lane bus pads at several station sites planned for this weekend.
Bothell-Everett Hwy., Trillium Blvd. to 180th St. (Area 3)
Nighttime (8 p.m. to 4 a.m.) work is planned for next week on Bothell-Everett Hwy. at the southbound station site at Trillium Blvd. and at the northbound station site at 153rd St.
128th/132nd St. (Area 2)
The station sites at westbound Airport Rd. and Gibson Rd. and at eastbound 132nd St. and 16th St. will experience single-lane daytime closures (9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.) a few days next week for electrical work and concrete pouring.
Airport Rd. (Area 1)
Daytime electrical and concrete work is also expected on southbound Airport Rd. at 112th St. and Kasch Park Rd.
One night of concrete work is planned at northbound Airport Rd. and Hwy. 99.

 New Road Paint Helps Direct Traffic Flow
West of I-5
The eastbound lanes of 128th St. received new road paint this week, as well as lighting for traffic signs that will be installed next week.
The paint and the signs will help to clarify the traffic flow with the new bus-only lane located next to the on-ramp for southbound I-5. A video demonstrating the traffic flow for both directions of 128th St. at I-5 is available at: www.communitytransit.org/128th.
When the signs are installed, the right-turn and bus-only lanes will be closed for a brief period of time during non-peak hours.
East of I-5
Electrical crews will continue nighttime work on a temporary traffic signal near the northbound I-5 on-ramp. Brief lane closures will occur as needed between the hours of 8 p.m. and 4 a.m.
The major work on the east side of I-5 continues to be the installation of a sidewalk, curb and gutter along westbound 128th St. from 3rd Ave. to the Shell station. This work will continue for several more weeks.

 Construction Includes Four Areas, Several Stages
The Swift Green Line will run between the Canyon Park Park & Ride in Bothell and the Seaway Transit Center, which is currently under construction near the Boeing Everett plant.
Swift Green Line buses will serve 34 stations at 16 intersections and two terminals every 10 minutes weekdays, and every 20 minutes nights and weekends.
Community Transit is building the stations in stages: underground utility work, concrete platforms, and finally the station structures.
Construction began in Area 1, the northernmost part of the route, and will generally move east and south, resulting in each station being visited several times in 2018.
Swift stations will provide weather protection, seating, adequate lighting, real-time next bus signs, and a rider information kiosk. ORCA smart card readers and ticket vending machines will provide quick and easy ways for riders to pay their fare before boarding a Swift bus.
The Swift Green Line will connect with the Swift Blue Line at Hwy 99 & Airport Rd., establishing Snohomish County’s first high-capacity transit network. The network will eventually include more Swift lines and Link light rail.
The Swift Green Line will begin service in spring 2019.
