Clinton to Ken's Corner Trail
Preliminary Engineering to prepare for development of the Clinton to Ken’s Corner Trail, a 10-foot wide non-motorized multi-use asphalt paved trail along the southeast side of SR-525 between the communities of Clinton and Langley from Deer Lake Road to Langley Road, is expected to begin at the end of July 2021. The trail is planned to extend approximately 2.14 miles to where the Ken’s Corner commercial center is located. PACE Engineers, Inc. will intermittently be conducting survey activities in the State Right-of-Way. Our goals are to make the trail safe for all users, to make vehicle access to businesses safe and efficient, and to enhance the project setting.
This trail segment is the fifth section of a long-term “Bridge to Boat” non-motorized, multi-use trail/shared use path within the State Right-of-Way. Constructed segments of the Bridge to Boat Trail are in the Central Whidbey area:
- Kettles Trail from the County owned Kettles Trail System to Main Street in Coupeville
- Rhododendron Trail Segment 1 from Main Street in Coupeville to Jacobs Road
- Rhododendron Trail Segment 2 from Jacobs Road to Rhododendron County Park
- Freeland Trail from Cameron Road to Fish Road in Freeland
Additionally, we are in the permitting process to improve parking for a trail connector to the Kettles Trail System through the County owned Allito Trails. Looking ahead, the next trail segment is penciled in runs from from Goldie Street to Hoffman Road in Oak Harbor.
