Roundabout Paving starts Tuesday

Oak Harbor:  Paving of the Ault Field Road / Heller Road / Clover Valley Road Roundabout is scheduled to start on Tuesday and run through Thursday,  Extended delays are expected during paving operations.  Choose alternate routes if available.

This schedule could change as this work can be weather dependent.

Paving had been delayed due to a strike by IOUE 302.  A tentative agreement was reached for the Western Washington Master Labor Agreement last Thursday afternoon, and union members were directed to return to work.

Paving work on the roundabout is subcontracted through SRV Construction to Lakeside Industries, which gave the notification of delay.  Workers at Lakeside Industries are part of the IOUE 302, according to the delay notice.  The union had been in dispute with the Associated General Contractors of Washington (AGC) over the Western Washington Master Labor Agreement related to wages, hours and working conditions, according to union updates and AGC's website.

Drivers should drive slowly and motorcycles should use extreme caution.
