Urban Design Workshop: Great neighborhoods need great spaces!

Help identify and imagine ways to improve public spaces, neighborhood connectivity, and community gathering places in Eastgate and Factoria. Join the planning team at our upcoming urban design workshop on Saturday, Feb. 28, 1–4 p.m. at Hyatt House Seattle/Bellevue. This is a family-friendly drop-in event with activities for kids and light refreshments. Share your ideas on how to make public spaces in Eastgate and Factoria more livable, walkable and welcoming. This workshop will have a variety of hands-on activities designed to identify ways to improve neighborhood connectivity and gathering spaces. Translation, interpretation or other accommodations available upon request. Register for the Feb. 28 workshop.

Evans Plaza Comprehensive Plan amendment

The city is reviewing a proposal for Evans Plaza that would change how five properties in the Bridle Trails neighborhood can be developed. The proposal would allow smaller-scale housing along with shops or offices. The Planning Commission will consider the proposed amendment to the Comprehensive Plan at a public hearing on Feb. 11. Parking reform info session

Bellevue’s parking requirements haven’t seen a major update since the 1960s. The city is revising its land use code to align with the Comprehensive Plan and recent state law changes that affect how cities regulate parking for new development. Join us for a virtual information session on Feb. 9 to learn about proposed updates, why changes are being considered and what they could mean for future development.
