Artists in Residence Exhibition Postcard

AIR: Auburn Artists in Residence
Exhibition Dates: January 30 - April 17, 2026

Update: There will not be an opening reception for this exhibition, but we encourage you to join us for the closing reception on April 16 from 5-7pm.

An artist in residence program (AIR) can act as a catalyst for creativity. Residencies provide dedicated time, space, and resources that allow an artist to deepen their practice, take creative risks, and develop new bodies of work. Just as importantly, it fosters meaningful exchange with new communities and ideas, often shaping the artist’s perspective and practice long after the residency ends.

From 2018-2025, the City of Auburn hosted the Mary Olson Farm Artist in Residence (MOFAIR) program, offering artists the opportunity to pursue their work in, and to be inspired by, the unique and beautiful setting of the Mary Olson Farm in Auburn, Washington. Whether influenced by the salmon spawning stream, the history of the farmhouse and Olson family, or the traditional weaving shed and artform, artists spent years finding inspiration for their art through this program. This exhibition features the work of three talented artists in residence from the MOFAIR program: Neely Goniodsky, Amanda Triplett, and Allyce Wood.

Fruit-Bearing Vase – 17th Century Korean Porcelain by Kelly Haejung Paik

Contained Radiance
Artist: Kelly Haejung Paik
Exhibition Dates: January 16 - April 6, 2026

We are excited to host a new artist at the Vault Gallery, Kelly Haejung Paik!

"This installation begins with a single form: the Korean moon jar, a vessel that holds more than volume. At the center stands a sculptural version built from polyurethane, its surface woven with strips of tinted hanji—Korean mulberry paper—and painted in colors that echo the surrounding paintings. Color is embedded within the structure through this woven patchwork rather than applied as surface decoration." - Kelly Haejung Paik
