KIDS PLAYTIME
Ages 2-10 | $10 for 2 hours of care | Auburn Community & Event Center Do you need a couple of hours to yourself, have an appointment, or want to meet up with a friend and do not have a sitter? We can help! Bring your child, ages 2-10 to our drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff are unable to change children’s clothing.

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. Open during the school year, the center operates Monday through Friday from 2:00pm to 5:00pm. Free transportation is provided by the Auburn School District from local middle and high schools.
The REC Teen Center re-opens September 8
Designed for students in grades 6–12, the REC offers a variety of fun activities including:
- Ping pong, foosball, air hockey, a teen lounge, and video games
- A gymnasium for drop-in basketball and volleyball

Over two sessions on October 3rd and October 10th, we cover all the basic foundational elements of creating a painting from value studies (dark and light), to basic color theory, to breaking apart a photo into basic shapes and learning to transfer those shapes (using a grid) onto a canvas. We then use our prior lessons to inform us as we paint our masterpieces! Materials are provided.

Beginner Linocut T-Shirt & Fabric Printing (ages 18+) $85/$99 | Saturday, October 4 | 10 - 4PM
Learn how to print linocuts onto t-shirts and fabrics! In this 1-day beginner workshop we’ll go over the basics of Linocut printing onto fabric. From creating a simple image, transferring it to a linoleum block, carving, inking, and then printing. Come with an image you’d like to turn into a linocut, or create one in the class. You can bring your own shirts or fabrics to print on, or some will be available to purchase from the instructor for $5. Beginners of all levels welcome!

Tinker Tots: Creative Makerspace Adventures

This four-week class series offers young children and their adult caregivers a fun, interactive way to explore creativity together. Through hands-on, guided activities, children will develop fine motor skills, social skills, and early STEM concepts. Each class includes 30 minutes of story time, music, and other engaging activities, followed by 30 minutes of themed crafting in the Makerspace. Registration includes 1 adult per child.

PRIVATE PARTIES
Celebrate the season with a private craft class for just your family and friends! Party packages are available for youth and adults and custom projects are available. Party goers will enjoy private space to complete their project in the cozy holiday vibe of the Maker Space. Email makerspace@auburnwa.gov for sample projects and availability. Maker Space parties are a great option for office parties, a girls’ night out, kids birthday party, end of season team party and more! All instruction and supplies are provided. Parties are welcome to bring their own refreshments.

The Auburn Senior Activity Center enhances the quality of life of senior adults 50+ in the Auburn community through social, recreational, health and wellness, educational, and nutritional programs. The Center is located at 808 9th Street SE, Auburn. Center hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm.

DROP-IN CHILDCARE!
Bring the kids to play while you use the Community Center Facilities. $4/session for drop in up to 2 hours of play or add on unlimited sessions to your fitness membership for $15/month/child. Ages 4 months-10 years; parents must remain onsite. Need to run errands or meet a friend for lunch? Drop off the kids for Kidz Playtime and enjoy up to 2 hours of free time. $10/child up to 2 hours. Children must be potty trained.

It’s time for another round of Community Conversations – and this time, we’re going big with a town hall series hosted by Mayor Nancy Backus!
We’ve listened to your ideas and concerns, and now we’re ready to talk, share solutions, and work together for Auburn’s future. Join us at one of several sessions across the city this fall – from schools to City Hall – to connect, ask questions, and make your voice heard. Light refreshments will be provided, and everyone is welcome.

The Almost 5K Glow Run & Walk is an easy run around Les Gove Park. This fun run will utilize the big loop at Les Gove Park. Five loops around is “almost” a 5K (short of a 5K by 1,138 feet). The Glow Run & Walk is perfect for all ages and abilities! Join us for this fun event as we gear up to glow as the days become shorter. Registration is $16 per person through October 30. Get ready to party after the Glow Run with the first ever Family Glow Jam! Join the Parks team for a full night of family fun with glow games, inflatables, photo booth, a glow in the dark dance party and glow crafts. Dinner concessions are available for a fee.

Main Street in downtown Auburn
One of the largest Veterans Parades in the country! The parade proceeds west on Main Street from E Street SE to A Street NW and will include flyovers, 15+ marching bands and several honor guards and ROTC units. Spectators will enjoy the military marching units and antique military vehicles. Spectators will also see community and scouting groups, motorcycle entries, classic cars and more. Highlights include the replica Nimitz aircraft carrier, the Huey helicopter fuselage and a PBR Boat, among others. The day kicks off with a Community Breakfast (7-9am) at the Auburn Senior Activity Center, followed by a Remembrance Ceremony (9:45am) at Veterans Memorial Park. Food trucks and food vendors will be available during the parade from 10am-2pm. The Auburn Noon Lions Luncheon (1:30pm) follows the parade. The day is complete after the state’s largest Marching Band and Field Competition awards its winners at Auburn High School Stadium. Complete details at www.auburnwa.gov/vets.

Join us for our first joint holiday market co-hosted by the White River Valley Museum and the Postmark Center for the Arts.
Food & Beverage items will be sold at the Museum, while handicrafts will be sold at the Postmark. Immerse yourself in the season as vendors are spread throughout the galleries amongst our decorated Christmas trees in the Festival of Trees. Explore sounds, smells, and tastes of the season and enjoy 'A Very Dickens Christmas' exhibit.

Salmon Fest Saturday, November 22 | 12-2pm Mary Olson Farm | FREE
The Mary Olson Farm welcomes the salmon back to our stream! Observe spawning salmon, become a salmon scientist by engaging in water testing and habitat observation, and learn more about the role salmon play in the ecosystem. Presented in partnership with the Environmental Science Center.
The Mary Olson Farm is located on Green River Road, to the north of the Auburn Golf Course. The parking area is located just north of the farm, and is connected to the farm by a short trail. Parking spaces are limited, and visitors are encouraged to carpool to this event. Sponsored by King Conservation District and King Country Wastewater Treatment Division

Gingerbread magic Is on display in Auburn! This fun event celebrates the holidays and brings the community together to see what Auburn can build! Fifteen (15) entries are on display at the Auburn Community & Event Center! Voting is open to the public December 3 - 17 during regular business hours. Bring the whole family down for a delightful display of candy-coated creations and vote for your favorite display in both youth and adult categories.

Join us for live music before starting at 4 p.m. at City Hall. Then watch as the community brings out their lighted holiday parade entries! The parade will feature lighted vehicles, floats, cars, and walking entries. All community, families, non-profits, and businesses are welcome to participate. Register your group today!
We'll wrap up the event with the annual tree lighting at City Hall plus a visit from Santa. Each year, one lucky child is randomly chosen to flip the switch and light the tree at City Hall.
