Free Emerald Downs tickets still available!
Less than two weeks to go until the race is on!
Emerald Downs is offering free admission to the races for City of Auburn employees, family, and friends! If you haven't gotten your tickets yet, now is your chance!
You and your guests can present the free tickets at an Emerald Downs admission gate on Sunday, August 24, 2025. Admission includes a free program along with free chips and a soda when you present your ticket stub at a concession stand.
To receive your free tickets: Email Human Resources, stop by the Human Resources Department, or call ext. 3040.
Tickets are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. There is no limit on the amount of tickets you can receive. If you have already received tickets, you are welcome to request more.
 Gates open at 12:20pm with the first race starting at 1:50pm.
This year's event is themed Wiener Dogs and Wannabes! In between Thoroughbred races, enjoy watching wiener dogs (and other similarly sized breeds) race it out for the win!
Mayor Backus will also be making an appearance! You do NOT want to miss this!
*Everyone ages 5 and up will need a ticket to get in
