It's looking like it'll be sunny with some partial cloud cover Friday as we celebrate America's birthday at Les Gove Park -- in other words, perfect weather! I’ll be there, I’d love to see you!
The event includes entertainment on two stages, a variety of craft artists, a car show, inflatable rides, euro-bungee trampolines, train rides and other fun activities for children. The event also offers a rock climbing wall, mini golf, bocce, food concessions, and so much more!
And while 4th of July Festival is free to attend, for just $10, you'll get unlimited access to most attractions. I'll see you Friday!
 📅 Friday, July 4 ⏰ 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. (wristband sales start at 10 a.m.) 📍 Les Gove Park | 910 9th St. SE 💲Free ($10 wristband gives unlimited access to most rides)
One more reminder about fireworks safety
Please be safe this 4th of July and remember:
- Fireworks that go up or blow up are ILLEGAL
- Legal fireworks can only be used from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. on July 4th
What's a legal firework? Party Poppers, Booby Traps, Snappers, Sparklers, Cylindrical and Cone Fountains, Illuminating Torches, Wheels, Ground Spinners, Flitter Sparklers and Smoke Devices.
For more information, check out our Fireworks Regulations page on our City of Auburn website.
It made me so happy to see City Hall Plaza packed Friday for our very first Party on the Plaza event, a new summer event series in downtown Auburn!
Officer Martin, Sgt. Frith and I enjoyed our chat as we looked at all the cool cars that lined the street in front of city hall.
Thank you, everyone, for attending, and especially to those who flexed their salsa dancing skills. A huge shout-out to our vendors as well, for coming packed and ready to offer so much amazing entertainment.
Each event brings a different theme, so mark your calendar and plan your feast:
-
📅 July 25 – Rock the Block | Amp up your summer with rockin’ tunes and street food favorites.
-
📅 August 22 – Cheeseburger in Paradise | Say goodbye to summer with tropical vibes, burgers, fries, and cool treats.
Featuring mouthwatering eats from Dick’s Drive-In, La Costenita Cuisine, Paparepas, Tacos Cortes, El Koreano, Tabassum, Alaskan Dumplings, Boss Mama’s Kitchen, DelFino's, Bean Hut, and Swanky Scoop. Plus, a car show in August!
So grab your friends, bring your appetite, and let’s turn City Hall Plaza into the place to be this summer.
See you on the plaza!

National Night Out returns to Auburn this summer, marking an important night of community building, collaborative partnerships, and neighborhood camaraderie throughout the city.
National Night Out takes place each year on the first Tuesday in August in cities and communities across the nation. This year’s event is on Tuesday, August 5.
Many communities throughout the city will be hosting a variety of special events such as block parties, cookouts, youth activities, and visits from City of Auburn officials, staff, and police to get better acquainted with neighbors and promote a more connected Auburn.
If your neighborhood wishes to host an event, click below and get your neighborhood registered before Friday, July 25 to receive promotional items such as postcard invitations, flyers, posters, and an event banner free of charge.
Events that register before the July 25 deadline can request a City of Auburn representative to make an appearance and meet the community in your neighborhood, connecting with them.
.

Party on the Plaza, June 27, 2025
Auburn is rich with history — from historical Main Street to the artifacts preserved throughout White River Valley Museum — I am excited to share these stories with all of you each week.
(Image courtesy of White River Valley Museum)
The Fourth of July is more than just our nation’s birthday – it’s also the day our national flags get updated. The Flag Act of 1818 established in law that if a new state entered the Union, a new white star would be added to the flag and this flag would become the official flag of the United States on the next Fourth of July following their admittance. Between 1818 and today, the flag has changed 25 times, most recently in 1960 with the admittance of Hawai’i.
