SUMMER CAMP JOBS - RECREATION DIVISION

APPLY for the Outdoor Adventure Counselor
This position works in the Auburn Parks outdoor adventure camp program. The adventure camp program travels with teens to various locations to partake in outdoor activities such as hiking, mountain biking, paddle boarding, river floating, kayaking, overnight camping, and other outdoor activities. The program will run June 17-September 4. Hours are 7:30am-5:30pm, with some evenings and weekends.

APPLY for Summer Camp Teen Staff
The Summer Camp Teen Staff are Recreation Leader II positions and responsible for safely transporting Tweens and Teens to and from field trip destinations daily, providing directions and maintaining discipline as needed. This role also involves supervising and guiding other camp counselors, ensuring smooth operations, and communicating with parents regarding children’s behavior, minor injuries, or any concerns. Additionally, the Recreation Leader II will learn and develop skills to support various camp activities, such as belaying a rock wall, teaching bicycle skills, organizing games, cooking, and leading arts and crafts.
The position requires availability from June 18 to August 22, with the summer camp running from June 25 to August 22, and applicants must be 21 years or older.

This position will act as a support staff for the Auburn Parks mobile recreation program known as Rec n Roll, which brings recreation to the community. Throughout the summer, the Rec n Roll van will visit over 15 different parks and schools across Auburn. This position will lead various games, sports, and craft activities for children who attend the program.

PARK MAINTENANCE DIVISION

APPLY for the Park Maintenance Worker Trainee
This is a season position. Assist maintenance crews in routine grounds maintenance including mowing, weed-eating, and fertilizing lawns, and routine landscaping; weeding and cleaning of flower and shrub beds, litter control, edging and cleaning of walks; and performing other related tasks as required. Assist in the operation of landscaping maintenance equipment such as walk-behind or push-type mowers, weed-eaters, backpack blowers and edgers. Incumbent may be required to operate standard size pick-ups and/or sedans with hand and foot control.

Fitness instructors are responsible for planning and teaching classes that may include Zumba, Barre, Boot Camp, HIIT Circuit, Kickboxing, Low-Impact Aerobics, Step and others. Instructors with experience in other classes are encouraged to apply. Currently in need of Zumba and Yoga Instructors: MOSSA Certified, Silver Sneakers & SAIL (Staying Active & Independent for Life). Classes will be offered Mon-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday evening classes from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Work schedule will be determined by the Fitness Coordinator.
