IT'S TIME TO GET ROLLIN': MAY IS BIKE MONTH!!


Mountain Bike Day

Auburn MTB- Trail School | Ages 6-11 | Mondays, April 21-May 12 | 5-6 PM
Hop on your bike for the next level of challenge! Trail School is for kids who can confidently pedal and want to grow into more skilled mountain bikers!

Riders will develop skills like bike safety, braking, shifting, bike control, physicality and more. Bikes, helmets and equipment are provided. Meet at the Cedar Lanes Bike Park.


Indoor Strider Bike

Pedal Power Learn-To-Ride | Ages 2.5-6 | Wednesdays, April 23-May14 | 11:15 AM-12 PM

Pedal power! This 4-week workshop will incorporate fun and games to learn to pedal a two-wheeler! Kids will start on balance bikes and work up to pedal bikes, practicing their skills in engaging activities that build confidence and skills. Bikes and helmets are provided. This class is held indoors.

Teen Ride Revolution | Grades 6-12 | Mondays, Wednesdays & Fridays May 12-June 13 | 2:45-4:45 PM

This is a FREE program for teens in sixth-twelfth grades designed to get teens out riding bikes!  Teens will learn bike safety, ride skills, basic bike maintenance and how to get around the community safely and with confidence.  Lots of group rides, lots of fun!  This is a FREE program made possible by the Washington Climate Commitment Act.  Teens who complete the program earn a brand-new Bike, Helmet, Lock and Light!  Space is limited.  Program meets at the REC Teen Center.  Transportation is available from Auburn School District to the REC. See the Teen website for transportation permission slip and bus numbers. 


Family Bike Ride

Family Bike Ride- White River Trail | Ages 3 & up | Saturday, May 3 | 10 AM-12 PM

Celebrate Bike Month with a family friendly ride around Auburn! We'll meet at the picnic shelter in Game Farm Park before riding across the new pedestrian bridge over the White River and hitting the trail to Roegner Park. This is an easy ride on mostly flat, paved terrain. The ride is approximately 4.5 miles round trip. All ages are welcome! Bring your own bike or borrow one from us. Helmets are required. We'll celebrate our ride with snacks and park time at the end of the ride.

MTB Meet Up | All Ages | Saturday, May 10 | 10 AM- 12PM

Join us in celebrating the start of spring and Bike Month with a community meet up at the Cedar Lanes Bike Park with a FREE ride! Ride the trails, test out the pump track and enjoy a day in the park. Instructors will be on-hand at each skills area. Bikes and helmets of all sizes are available to borrow at the event. Waiver required for bike check-out.


Pump Track Bike Ride

Pump Track Basics | Ages 6-11 | Wednesdays, May 21-June 11 | 4:30-5:30 PM
Ride on at the Cedar Lanes Bike Park! This class will teach kids new to the Pump Track all the skills they need to get in the flow. Pumping, body position, and manuals will be taught using bike games and exclusive use of the pump track during class. Bikes, helmets and equipment are provided. Meet at the Cedar Lanes Bike Park.

Family Bike Ride- Black Diamond Open Space | Ages 8 & up | Saturday, May 31 | 10 AM-3 PM
Celebrate Bike Month with a family friendly mountain bike ride at the Black Diamond Open Space! We'll meet at the Community Center in Les Gove Park before loading up in the van for the drive to Black Diamond. BDOS offers beginner friendly gravel trails and single track that is fun for all skill levels. If you're new to mountain biking, instructors will be on hand to provide assistance. Bikes and helmets are provided. Helmets are required. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, snacks and sturdy shoes for riding.

 

 


All Kids Bike

All Kids Bike | Ages 6-10 | Mondays, June 2-30 | 5-6pm

All Kids Bike is an Inclusive Learning program that empowers kids, ages 6-11 to ride a bike. This program starts kids off on balance bikes and works toward pedaling through practice of bike riding basics including balance and proprioception skills. All instruction, bikes and helmets are provided. Children with disabilities are encouraged to participate. Participants must be able to walk unassisted.
