Safety Tips from L&I
Don't waste time, work at waist height
Raising work from the floor reduces stress on the body, lowers injury risk, and boosts efficiency.
A simple workplace change can save time, increase work quality, and prevent injuries.
- Having your work too high or low causes fatigue, harms work quality, and wastes time.
- A work stand or workbench can raise existing surfaces to the desired height. Choose adjustable ones for personalized fit.
- Start today by assessing your workspace and making the necessary adjustments for a safer, more productive work environment.

National Ladder Safety Month
Take Ladder Safety to New Heights
Don’t skip a step when it comes to ladder safety. Just because you feel comfortable using a ladder does not mean you can’t fall and get seriously hurt or killed.
If you use ladders for work, make sure you know how to:
- Quickly check for defects (before EACH use).
- Report a damaged ladder, remove it from service, and find a proper replacement.
- Identify if a ladder is set up correctly or needs adjustment.
