Ages 2-10 | $10 for 2 hours of care | Auburn Community & Event Center Do you need a couple of hours to yourself, have an appointment, or want to meet up with a friend and do not have a sitter? We can help! Bring your child, ages 2-10 to our drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff are unable to change children’s clothing.

Operation Covert Kids Mystery Night | May 31 | Whodunnit? Participants will work as teams to solve an interactive scavenger hunt to find hidden clues, solve riddles, and complete their mission.

Paint & Chill | June 7 | Calling our art enthusiasts! Participants will get a chance to mix up their favorite Italian soda drinks, and complete a pre-prepped paint activity!

PARTY PACKAGES
Schedule your party package with us - you bring the party and we’ll provide the fun! Our enthusiastic party crew will host an exciting two-hour celebration for your child, friend, sports team, art enthusiast, and more; handling all the details and setup/cleanup. Just show up, relax, and enjoy the party while we take care of everything else! Packages available in the gymnasium, seasonally on the rock climbing wall, and in the Makerspace.

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. The REC is open during the school year, Monday through Friday from 2pm-5pm. Transportation is provided from the Auburn middle schools and high schools courtesy of the Auburn School District.

Teens will learn bike safety, ride skills, basic bike maintenance and how to get around the community safely and with confidence. Lots of group rides, lots of fun! Family Adventures: Ape Caves Spelunking Ages 10 & up | Saturday, June 14 | 8 AM-7 PM
This is an adventure that's sure to please! Pack your flashlights and your sturdy shoes as we embark on a 1.5-mile hike through pitch black lava tube! This fan favorite trip takes you to Mt. St. Helens where our experienced staff will guide you through the cave and on a downhill hike at the end with views of Mt. St. Helens. 2 working flashlights/headlamps, sturdy shoes, and layered clothing are required. Bring a sack lunch and a water bottle.

Trail to Tranquility: Hike & Yoga Workshop | Ages 14 & up | Saturday, June 21 | 9 AM-2 PM Experience the peace of nature with this full day of zen! Start off the morning with a hike through the trails of Point Defiance Park followed by an outdoor yoga flow session to stretch and unwind. Trails are appropriate for all fitness levels. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, comfortable clothes for both hiking and yoga and sturdy shoes for hiking. Yoga mat and blocks are available or bring your own.

May is Bike Month!
Family Bike Ride- White River Trail | Ages 3 & up | Saturday, May 3 | 10 AM-12 PM Celebrate Bike Month with a family friendly ride around Auburn! We'll meet at the picnic shelter in Game Farm Park before riding across the new pedestrian bridge over the White River and hitting the trail to Roegner Park. This is an easy ride on mostly flat, paved terrain. The ride is approximately 4.5 miles round trip. All ages are welcome! Bring your own bike or borrow one from us. Helmets are required. We'll celebrate our ride with snacks and park time at the end of the ride.
MTB Meet Up | All Ages | Saturday, May 10 | 10 AM- 12PM Join us in celebrating the start of spring and Bike Month with a community meet up at the Cedar Lanes Bike Park with a free ride! Ride the trails, test out the pump track and enjoy a day in the park. Instructors will be on-hand at each skills area. Bikes and helmets of all sizes are available to borrow at the event. Waiver required for bike check-out.
Family Bike Ride- Black Diamond Open Space | Ages 8 & up | Saturday, May 31 | 10 AM-3 PM Celebrate Bike Month with a family friendly mountain bike ride at the Black Diamond Open Space! We'll meet at the Community Center in Les Gove Park before loading up in the van for the drive to Black Diamond. BDOS offers beginner friendly gravel trails and single track that is fun for all skill levels. If you're new to mountain biking, instructors will be on hand to provide assistance. Bikes and helmets are provided. Helmets are required. Bring a sack lunch, water bottle, snacks and sturdy shoes for riding.

The 2025 Annual Seattle Print Arts Print Exchange invites Seattle Print Arts (SPA) members to showcase their work in an unjuried celebration of fine art printmaking. This exhibition highlights the diversity and creativity of both traditional and non-traditional printmaking, fostering knowledge sharing, professional development, and community engagement within the vibrant SPA network.
SPA is a member-run association of traditional and non-traditional print artists and their supporters. Their mission is to create opportunities for knowledge sharing, fellowship, and professional development; to expand the audience for printmaking; and to extend access to printmaking to all.

Celebrate the season with a private craft class for just your family and friends! Party packages are available for youth and adults and custom projects are available. Party goers will enjoy private space to complete their project in the cozy holiday vibe of the Maker Space. Email makerspace@auburnwa.gov for sample projects and availability. Maker Space parties are a great option for office parties, a girls’ night out, kids birthday party, end of season team party and more! All instruction and supplies are provided. Bring the kids to play while you use the Community Center Facilities. $5/session for drop in up to 2 hours of play or add on unlimited sessions to your fitness membership for $15/month/child. Ages 4 months-10 years; parents must remain onsite. Need to run errands or meet a friend for lunch? Drop off the kids for Kidz Playtime and enjoy up to 2 hours of free time. $10/child up to 2 hours. Children must be potty trained.
NEW Program! Walk It Out
Join the Auburn Community Fitness team for a free community walking group around Les Gove Park. Led by one of the Community Fitness Instructors, this group will provide space for community members to get out and move together while enjoying Les Gove in springtime. Fitness membership is not required. Meet on the back patio of the Community Center. Every Tuesday, through June 10 | 12:15-1:15 PM.

8th Street Gardens (1030 8th St NE)
Residents plot fee: $55 Non-residents: $63 | Ages 18 & Over
Reserve Your Garden Spot Now! Get one or two 10 x 20-foot Community Gardens to grow your spring, summer, and fall vegetables. This is an environmentally friendly garden area with sociable gardeners, red-wing blackbirds, and all the water you need (water is turned off the last weekend in October and turned on the first Saturday in April), provided by the City of Auburn. We’re asking for a chemical free, GREEN environment. Planting begins on the first Saturday in April. You must make proof of planting by May 1, or we will have the option of re-renting your garden. Gardeners must complete 4 hours of volunteering for each plot rental.

Ilana Zaks: Sound Worlds

Sound Worlds is a one-hour program featuring music for violin and electronics. This program features music by Hunter Prueger, ('Silent Moment', 2023), Brannon Warn-Johnston's A Year with Cancer', (2024), Patrick Long ('Shadow Steps', 2011; finished 2021), Aaron Levin's Videogame Vespers' (2023). This program is intended to bring awareness to underrepresented composers innovating and bringing sounds from their life experiences to one of the oldest existing instruments: the violin.

Join Auburn Symphony Orchestra and the Auburn Public Library for Rhythm and Rhymes Story Hour! Enjoy a fun, interactive music presentation with ASO musicians followed by a story read-aloud with an Auburn librarian. This FREE program is best for ages 3-8 but families of all ages are encouraged to attend. Take home a craft kit to continue the fun at home!

Enjoy light refreshments and sit down for a special performance of chamber opera Blood Dawn of the Inti Sun, written by Auburn’s Poet Laureate Mateo Bracken and composed by Mina Pariseau. Poets Carlos Nieto, Clara Olivo, and Sasha taqwšəblu LaPointe will be featured readers for the night.

A pet/owner 3K/5K Fun Run that kicks off the annual Petpalooza event. The routes will take you from Game Farm Park and along the White River Trail. FREE incentive item to first 100 pre-registrants!! Registration includes T-Shirt (size guaranteed with early registration), race bib and finisher’s medal. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Water will be available on the course for both human and dog participants. Each person participating on the course (other than children in strollers) must register and pay.
