Summer camp runs from June 25 to August 22. Applicants must be 16 years or older.

The Recreation Leader 1 positions are program leads required to provide leadership and supervision for recreational classes, programs, and camps. This includes engaging youth ages 6-11 in various activities, providing direction and maintaining discipline as needed, and interacting professionally with participants, contractors, supervisors, and other staff both in person and over the phone. This role involves assisting with general inquiries related to the City and department, helping to develop and follow specific camp/program lesson plans, and overseeing the facility during program activities. Position will be required to learn and develop skills to lead various camp activities, including but not limited to; belaying on rock wall, organizing games, baking/cooking, check in/out process, and arts and crafts. Summer camp runs from June 25 to August 22. Applicants must be 18 years or older.

SUMMER CAMP TEEN STAFF

The Summer Camp Teen Staff are Recreation Leader II positions and responsible for safely transporting Tweens and Teens to and from field trip destinations daily, providing directions and maintaining discipline as needed. This role also involves supervising and guiding other camp counselors, ensuring smooth operations, and communicating with parents regarding children’s behavior, minor injuries, or any concerns. Additionally, the Recreation Leader II will learn and develop skills to support various camp activities, such as belaying a rock wall, teaching bicycle skills, organizing games, cooking, and leading arts and crafts.
The position requires availability from June 18 to August 22, with the summer camp running from June 25 to August 22, and applicants must be 21 years or older.

MOBILE RECREATION PROGRAM STAFF

This is a season position. Assist maintenance crews in routine grounds maintenance including mowing, weed-eating, and fertilizing lawns, and routine landscaping; weeding and cleaning of flower and shrub beds, litter control, edging and cleaning of walks; and performing other related tasks as required. Assist in the operation of landscaping maintenance equipment such as walk-behind or push-type mowers, weed-eaters, backpack blowers and edgers. Incumbent may be required to operate standard size pick-ups and/or sedans with hand and foot control.

FITNESS INSTRUCTOR

Currently in need of Zumba and Yoga Instructors: MOSSA Certified, Silver Sneakers & SAIL (Staying Active & Independent for Life). Classes will be offered Mon-Friday from 8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday evening classes from 4:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. and Saturday mornings from 8:00 a.m. -11:00 a.m. Work schedule will be determined by the Fitness Coordinator.
