Designs by Elaine

Visit Design by Elaine at the Auburn Farmers Market every Sunday, 10 am – 3 pm at Les Gove Park.

Meet Kent, co-owner of Design by Elaine, and skilled craftsman at the Auburn Farmers Market. The journey began when Kent met his wife Elaine. Elaine, known for her handmade cards and paper houses, dared life-long painter Kent to create a wooden house. So he did. That challenge sparked a passion in balsa wood crafting that extends to today. Now, Kent and Elaine blend their skills to offer handmade cards, paper and wooden houses, and stunning oil paintings at the farmers market. Design by Elaine is known for their custom orders that touch the community. Kent shares, “we take custom orders, so if someone has a picture of their animal or landscape, I’ll do it. A lot of people will see the custom paintings available and say – my dog just passed away, or my sister’s dog passed away. A client, her husband Charles had passed away, he loved their dog. I always said I don’t paint people, but I did it for her. I did a portrait of Charles sitting at his favorite winery with his dog. When she opened it, she just cried her eyes out.”
