Bring your 2-10 year old to our drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff do not change clothes.

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. The REC is open during the school year, Monday through Friday from 2pm-5pm. Transportation is provided from the Auburn middle schools and high schools courtesy of the Auburn School District.
The REC Teen Center offers great fun for grades 6-12 and features:
- Ping Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey, Teen Lounge & Video Games
- A Gymnasium for drop-in basketball
- Tech Lab for tutoring and homework help.
- Maker's Room featuring a 3-D printer, laser cutter, robotics, crafts, custom decals, digital embroidery and more.

The City of Auburn invites you to attend the City’s Arbor Day celebration as Mayor Nancy Backus, City officials, and the Auburn Urban Tree Board plants a a new Red Oak east of the new playground. The tree is donated by the Auburn Garden Club. Arbor Day is a nationally celebrated observance in which individuals and groups are encouraged to plant trees. Trees can provide a significant role in creating and maintaining healthier and safer communities, which include filtering the air and water, and provide habitat for wildlife.

Get one or two 10 by 20 foot Community Gardens to grow your spring, summer, and fall vegetables. The Garden is located at 1030 8th Street NE. This is an environment friendly garden area with sociable gardeners, red-wing blackbirds, and all the water you need (water is turned off the last weekend in October and turned on the first Saturday in April), provided by the City of Auburn. We're asking for a chemical free, GREEN environment. Planting begins on the first Saturday in April. You must make proof of planting by May 1 or we will have the option of re-renting your garden. YOUTH FISHING DERBY
Mill Pond Park, 4582 Mill Pond Dr. SE
The Auburn S.O.F. Chapter of the Puget Sound Anglers will host their annual youth fishing derby for kids ages 14 and under. Mill Pond will be stocked with fish for the youth to catch! Kids are invited to bring a rod, bait and their best fishing hat to this fun and free event. The Fishing Derby is also supported by Auburn Sports & Marine and the City of Auburn. A limited number of fishing poles and gear will be available to borrow. Concessions will be available for purchase.

Family Open Rock Climb Les Gove Park, 910 9th St. SE | Ages 4 and up
Bring the family to the climbing wall in Les Gove Park for a full evening of rock-climbing fun! This is a drop-in climbing opportunity all equipment, instruction and belayers will be provided. Ages 4 and up. Fee: $12/$15
Check out Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Rock Climbing package options designed for groups and families wanting to develop teambuilding skills and have fun. This program can be customized to meet your groups’ or families’ individual needs. Perfect for teams, clubs, workplace training, youth groups, and especially families. Saturday, May 20 | 9:30-11am DOG TROT – 3K/5K FUN RUN Game Farm Park, 3030 R St SE | Ages 5 and up
A pet/owner 3K/5K Fun Run that kicks off the annual Petpalooza event. The routes will take you from Game Farm Park and along the White River Trail. Incentive to first 100 registered: receive a 17”x14” insulated Petpalooza-logoed picnic bag!! Registration includes T-Shirt (size guaranteed with early registration), race bib and finisher’s medal. The course is flat, easy and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Water will be available on the course for both human and dog participants. Registration is per person.
