ART GALLERY EXHIBITIONS

Amanda DeSilver

Cheryl Sallee Gallery
808 9th St SE

Artist: Amanda DeSilver
Exhibition Dates: January 10 - March 7, 2023

Artist Amanda DeSilver’s work is inspired by the beauty of the Pacific Northwest landscape. Often working in painting and collage, DeSilver’s adventures in the outdoors have informed her “bold and sometimes unusual use of color.”

Timothy Sanders

Community Center Gallery
910 Ninth Street SE

Artist: Lewis LaBrashé and Timothy Sanders
Exhibition Dates: January 10 – March 3, 2023

Artist Timothy Sanders uses wood as his medium and is inspired by the “incredible beauty of design in nature.” Sanders finds ideas and inspiration for his interactive work everywhere, from things like “a leaf, the pattern of a necktie, a piece of machinery” or “bits of driftwood or architectural design.”

Lewis LaBrashe

Lewis LaBrashé describes himself as an Artist/Expressionist. Inspired by the natural landscapes he encounters while hiking, he loves recreating these in his work. Many of his paintings are directly influenced by the time he spends in nature. LaBrashé feels that working in one medium is too restrictive, so often uses multiple media (including acrylics, resins and pastels) to achieve the desired effect. or ideas.”

Stephanie Krimmel

Art on Main Gallery
One Main Street

Artist: Stephanie Krimmel
Title: 'Thousands of Small Steps"
Exhibition Dates: January 14-April 2, 2023

‘Thousands of Small Steps’ celebrates growth and perseverance by demonstrating the cumulative effect of daily practice. The artist writes the following about the work:

"In May 2018, I began making a digital painting every day. It started as a challenge to myself to reclaim my creativity, and became a sustaining passion that continues to grow. The resulting series, called the Daily Art Habit, is now built over 1500 consecutive day’s practice. It has recorded my transformation from a business consultant into an artist and has become a metaphor for growth through practice and perseverance. Installed as a group, the daily pieces from the series provoke questions around the individual versus the collective and present growth as constant yet non-linear process."
