Parks, Recreation & Open Space Survey: Start Survey Now
We are doing one last push to encourage all of you to take our Parks, Recreation & Open Space survey!
The City of Auburn Parks, Recreation, and Open Space (PROS) Plan starts with you! City residents, patrons, and interested stakeholders are invited to share their insights (via a survey) for the common goal of shaping future parks, programs and recreational facilities within the City of Auburn. Your answers will provide meaningful insights to guide the next 6-10 years of parks and recreation activities and improvements. The survey is available in a variety of languages.
The PROS Plan includes a six-year plan and 20-year vision for Auburn’s park system. It outlines goals and objectives, implementation strategies, capital improvements, and investment programs for the City’s parks, recreation and open space system. The Plan also will provide guidelines and direction for the City in terms of acquiring, developing and preserving property, accepting property donations, and identifying potential funding sources and other actions enabling the City to respond to opportunities in a timely fashion. The Plan will identify the action steps needed in our park and recreation systems to ensure that these systems are an integral part of the City’s economic development strategy. The last plan was updated in 2015.

City of Auburn Comprehensive Plan - Imagine Auburn
The City of Auburn is embarking on its periodic update of the Comprehensive Plan – Imagine Auburn – required to be adopted in 2024. This is a citywide effort involving subjects such as Parks and Open Space, Land Use, Housing, Transportation, Climate Change, and Utilities. The Plan update will provide a general vision for the future of the community and a roadmap for the next twenty years. It outlines what the community wants to look like moving forward towards 2044, and how to make that collective vision a reality. The Plan also addresses growth requirements provided by local, regional, and state agencies.
