Auburn Parks is hiring now for several positions. Have fun while working with kids or athletic programs. Most positions involve getting paid to play in the programs offered by Auburn Parks. Do you like to play video games? Do you play basketball? If you do, get paid! The REC Teen Center is hiring staff to work in the teen after school program. Kidz Playtime | Ages 2-8 | $10 for 2 hours of care Do you need a couple of hours to yourself, have an appointment, or want to meet up with a friend and do not have a sitter? We can help! Bring your 2-8 year old to our new drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff do not change clothes.

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. The REC is open during the school year, Monday through Friday from 2pm-5pm. Transportation is provided from the Auburn middle schools and high schools courtesy of the Auburn School District.
The REC Teen Center offers great fun for grades 6-12 and features:
- Ping Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey, Teen Lounge & Video Games
- A Gymnasium for drop-in basketball
- Tech Lab for tutoring and homework help.
- Maker's Room featuring a 3-D printer, laser cutter, robotics, crafts, custom decals, digital embroidery and more.

Saturday, November 5 Veterans Parade & Observance Parade at 11am | Main Street in downtown Auburn
One of the largest Veterans Parades west of the Mississippi, the parade proceeds west on Main Street from E Street SE to A Street NW in Auburn. It includes a fly-over, marching bands, honor guards, military marching units and vehicles, veterans units, drill teams, community and scouting groups, as well as floats, antique cars and more. The day kicks off with a breakfast, co-hosted by the American Legion. Food trucks on South Division from 10am-2pm and the Auburn Noon Lions Luncheon follows the parade. The day is complete after the state’s largest Marching Band and Field Competition awards its winners at Auburn High School Stadium. Thank you to the Muckleshoot Casino for sponsoring! Saturday, November 12 Salmon Fest 12-2pm | Mary Olson Farm
The Mary Olson Farm welcomes the salmon back to our stream! Observe spawning salmon, become a salmon scientist by engaging in water testing and habitat observation, and learn more about the role salmon play in the ecosystem. Presented in partnership with the Environmental Science Center. Free.

Saturday, December 3 Santa Parade & Tree Lighting Parade at 4:30pm | Main Street in downtown Auburn
Auburn's Lighted Santa Parade & Tree Lighting event returns! Beginning at 4:30 PM the parade will feature lighted vehicles, floats, cars, and walking entries and will stretch from Auburn High School to City Hall along Main Street in downtown Auburn. Join us for live music before and after the parade at City Hall. We'll wrap up the event with the annual tree lighting at City hall plus a visit from Santa.
All community, families, non-profits, and businesses are welcome to participate. All entries wishing to participate in the parade must register in advance by Wednesday, November 30, 2022. All entries must have a lighted element. This years' theme: Toyland! Decorate or dress as your favorite toy!

Saturday, December 10 Festival of Trees Family Day 12pm-4pm | White River Valley Museum
Each year the museum is filled with trees decorated or created around a theme. This year, artists from around the region will be decorating trees inspired the theme “Dreamscapes.” How will they interpret this theme? Come visit the museum and find out, with extra craft-making opportunities, story times, and festive activities throughout the day.
