Fall is just around the corner and Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation continues to serve the community with various opportunities and experiences.

Kidz Playtime | Ages 2-8 | $10 for 2 hours of care 
Do you need a couple of hours to yourself, have an appointment, or want to meet up with a friend and do not have a sitter? We can help! Bring your 2-8 year old to our new drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff do not change clothes.

The REC Teen Center 

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. The REC is open during the school year, Monday through Friday from 2pm-5pm. Transportation is provided from the Auburn middle schools and high schools courtesy of the Auburn School District. 

The REC Teen Center offers great fun for grades 6-12 and features:

  • Ping Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey, Teen Lounge & Video Games  
  • A Gymnasium for drop-in basketball
  • Tech Lab for tutoring and homework help. 
  • Maker's Room featuring a 3-D printer, laser cutter, robotics, crafts, custom decals, digital embroidery and more.

The REC Teen Center Special Events:

  • HYPE Night: Friday, September 16 | 6-10pm; Friday, October 14 | 6-10pm
  • REC Riders  | Wednesdays, Sept 21-Oct 12 | 3-4:30pm

    Service Learning & Leadership Development group gets teens active in the Auburn Community!  First meeting is Tuesday, September 14 at the REC- 6-7:15 PM.

Family Palouse to Cascades Bike Ride | Ages: 9 AND UP | Saturday, Sept 17 | 9am-5pm
Hop on your bike for this 18 mile Bike Adventure! We’ll start at Hyak on Snoqualmie Pass and bike along Lake Keechelus before winding along Lake Easton where we’ll re-fuel with a BBQ lunch. We’ll provide the bikes, helmets, and lunch; you’ll just need comfortable shoes and clothing for biking and the weather, and a water bottle.

Family Open Climb | Ages 4 & UP | Wednesday, September 21 | 5-7pm
Bring the family to the wall for a full evening of rock climbing fun! Climbers will learn the fundamentals of climbing while working together to build skills like teamwork, trust, and fun! Climbing will push you to reach for greater challenges and show your true strength! All equipment will be provided.

Bring the family (ages 4 & up) to the climbing wall at Les Gove Park for a full evening of rock climbing fun! Halloween Harvest Festival &
Les Gove Park Trunk-or-Treat

Les Gove Park | 1-5 pm

This fun-filled fall afternoon will include games, crafts, face painting, scary cookies, cauldrons of punch. Be sure to check out the Trunk-or-Treat around the trail at Les Gove Park. Your little goblin will not want to miss this event! Bring a can of food for admission to support the Auburn Food Bank.

Vet Parade

Saturday, November 5
Veterans Parade & Observance
Parade at 11am | Main Street in downtown Auburn

One of the largest Veterans Parade west of the Mississippi, the parade proceeds west on Main Street from E Street SE to A Street NW in Auburn. It includes a fly-over, marching bands, honor guards, military marching units and vehicles, veterans units, drill teams, community and scouting groups, as well as floats, antique cars and more. The day kicks off with a breakfast, co-hosted by the American Legion. The Auburn Noon Lions Luncheon follows the parade. The day is complete after the state’s largest Marching Band and Field Competition awards its winners at Auburn High School Stadium. Complete details at www.auburnwa.gov/events.
