 We’re Hiring!!!
A variety of job opportunities are available with the Auburn Parks, Arts and Recreation Department. Some of the featured positions are:

Childcare Teacher: Supervise the childcare room at the Auburn Community and Event center.

Maker Space Specialist: Lead programs, projects and activities in the Maker Space! Work with a laser cutter, vinyl press, 3D printers and more!

Summer Camp Counselors: Looking for counselors to work in the fun filled summer camp programs. Lead and assistant positions are available.
-
Seasonal Park Maintenance Worker: Duties include mowing and weeding; collecting litter; maintaining facilities; and preparing athletic fields.
Other positions include: Facility Assistants; Facility, Field & Gym attendants; Fitness instructors; Front Desk Clerks; Golf Cart Attendants; STEAM Instructors; Recreation Leaders; Teen Center staff; and a variety of volunteer opportunities. Indoor Playground Pre-school Drop In program at the Gymnasium at Les Gove Park
Monday, Wednesday, Friday | through June 22 9:30-11am | $2 per child, membership pass also available. Enjoy fun in the gym with riding toys, bikes, balls, climbing toys and more, all while meeting and playing with new friends. No Playground May 30. Parent or care provider must stay with child or children.
Kidz Playtime – Now Open!
Location: Auburn Community and Event Center Ages: 2-8 Fee: $10 for 2 hours of care Do you need a couple of hours to yourself, have an appointment, or want to meet up with a friend and do not have a sitter? We can help! Bring your child, ages 2-8 to our drop-in childcare program and we will keep them entertained and safe. All staff have undergone a National Background Check. Two hours of care for $10. Call the Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Office at 253-931-3043 for specific times and days. Times and days coordinate with fitness classes and may change quarterly. Staff are unable to change children’s clothing.

Auburn's REC Teen Center is located at 910 9th Street SE in Les Gove Park. The REC is open from Monday through Friday from 2pm-5pm. Transportation is provided from the Auburn middle schools and high schools courtesy of the Auburn School District.
The REC Teen Center offers great fun for grades 6-12 and features:
- Ping Pong, Foosball, Air Hockey, Teen Lounge & Video Games
- A Gymnasium for drop-in basketball
- Tech Lab for tutoring and homework help.
- Maker's Room featuring a 3-D printer, laser cutter, robotics, crafts, custom decals, digital embroidery and more.
Remainder of the Year Membership: $50 Monthly Membership: $15 Daily Drop-in Rate: $1

REC RIDERS
Learn the skills needed to hit the trail! This 4-week program will give teens the tools to take their riding to the next level using modular systems to develop balance, improve body position, basic bike handling skills and safety, and tackling obstacles safely. Each program culminates with a trail ride. REC Riders is free with admission to the REC Teen Center. Bikes & helmets are provided. Grades 6-12.

LADIES & LIL' GENTS Saturday, March 26 Auburn Community & Event Center

The White River Valley Museum is celebrating Earth Month during Spring Break, and we want you to join us! Every day we will explore a different theme, learning more about the wonderful world we live in, the creatures we share it with, and the choices we can all make to help our world. Interactive activities, art-making opportunities, and scavenger hunts are scheduled every day from 10-4, with special opportunities to learn, meet animals, or create something special scheduled at 1:00pm. The White River Valley Museum is hosting local scholar and environmental superstar BJ Cummings to discuss the role that the Green and Duwamish Rivers played in shaping the environment and economy of this region. BJ Cummings founded the Duwamish River Cleanup Coalition and manages community engagement for the University of Washington’s Superfund Research Program. She is the author of The River That Made Seattle: A Natural and Human History of the Duwamish, and she was awarded the River Network’s national River Hero award for her work leading community-based clean up and restoration of the Duwamish River. This talk is hosted thanks to a partnership with Humanities Washington, and will be conducted on zoom.

Game Farm Park
A family-oriented fun run event that takes place prior to Auburn’s Petpalooza festival. Participants will follow a 3K or 5K route. The course is flat, easy, and enjoyable for all ages and ability levels. Water will be available on the course for both dogs and human participants. The race is ‘chip-timed’ by BuDu Racing, LLC. Early registration is only $20/person and includes a T-Shirt, full-color face bib and a participation medal. Register Online now!
