Window Gallery

Create your own “Window Gallery” at home and share your pictures with us!

Stuck at home and wanting to brighten up your day? Try mixing 2/3 washable tempera paint, 1/3 dish soap, and a sprinkle of some flour to thicken it up, and you have your very own washable window paint! Try masking off an area with blue painter’s tape, and create your “Window Gallery” masterpiece to share with the community. Share your pictures with us on Facebook and tag #AuburnWindowGallery in February to enter our Window Gallery challenge and be featured on our Facebook page!”

Family tree represents not only our families but how I see life in general. We may all choose different paths, but we all share the same foundation.

This sculpture is on display as a part of Auburn's 2020-21 Downtown Sculpture Gallery program. This sculpture, as well as 10 others, will be on view for the next year! Go to our website to vote for your favorite sculpture for this year's People's Choice Award!

Kehinde WIley Self Portrait Collage
  • Black History Month Feature: Kehinde Wiley Inspired Self-Portrait Collage – Follow along this video to learn about famous artist Kehinde Wiley, a painter best known for being the first African-American to be commissioned to paint a Presidential portrait. The video discusses the meaning behind his artistic decisions and then demonstrates an art project inspired by his vibrant backgrounds and powerful, uplifting portraits.
  • Process Art Valentines for Kids – Check out this wonderful collection of process art ideas for Valentine’s Day from The Artful Parent. No cookie cutter crafts, but instead–gorgeous art and crafts ideas that will reflect the creativity of each child that makes it!
  • Valentine’s Day Shape Poem Activity – This great poetry and drawing activity is a must-do for kids in February! This simple tutorial shows how to create a poem about love, and then use the free printable heart template to create a colorful heart drawing for your poem.

Mary Olson Farm Artist in Residence

2021 Mary Olson Farm Artist in Residence

The Mary Olson Farm Artist in Residence provides the opportunity for an artist to pursue their work in, and to be inspired by, the unique and beautiful setting of the Mary Olson Farm in Auburn, Washington for two months in June and July. There is a $3,500 stipend for the selected artist.

Application Deadline: February 25, 2021 at 10:59pm Pacific Time
Eligibility: Pacific Northwest Individual artists or artist teams

Downtown Sculpture Gallery

2021-2022 Downtown Sculpture Gallery 

The Downtown Sculpture Gallery showcases new sculptures annually providing different public artwork for Auburn residents to experience and enjoy. Artwork is on display for one year, September-September, and selected artists receive an $1,000 stipend.

Eligibility: Pacific Northwest artists

Auburn Symphony Orchestra and Interurban Center for the Arts

Art Inspires Art: Antonio Vivaldi’s Four Seasons Art Projects for Kids

Auburn Symphony Orchestra and Interurban Center for the Arts have partnered to create arts education videos for children. These videos are designed for children in pre-k and elementary school. Since they make use of materials commonly found at home, these projects are accessible to almost every child.

Videos are free and can be viewed at the Auburn Symphony website.
