Veterans Museum Monday Heading

The City of Auburn considers it a great honor to host the 2020 Salute to Veterans Celebration this November, paying tribute to and celebrating our Veterans and those currently serving in the United States Armed Forces.

VETERANS MUSEUM MONDAY VIRTUAL EXHIBITIONS

To celebrate and honor our Veterans, we have compiled a variety of excellent virtual museum exhibitions, which we encourage everyone to view and experience to recognize the stories of those who have served.

Intrepid Oral Stories

Intrepid has served our nation for more than 75 years, playing crucial roles in World War II, the Cold War, Vietnam War and the Space Race. Now as the centerpiece of a world class museum – the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum – it continues to serve with a new mission: to promote the awareness and understanding of history, science and service through its collections, exhibitions and programming, in order to honor our heroes, educate the public, and inspire our youth.

Digital resources available through the Intrepid Museum’s website include: virtual talks and tours; virtual museum visits to experience the exhibitions; their own YouTube channel to search and explore over 300 engaging videos featuring aircraft highlights, Women in History, and behind-the-scenes features, collection showcases and much more; an oral history project with stories of those who served on board the historic aircraft carrier Intrepid from 1943 to 1974, as well as many teacher and students resources.
