It's hard to believe the 4th of July is just around the corner! A new week means another issue of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation's Virtual Recreation. A list of opportunities, ideas and programs to help you stay active and engaged. You'll find some great patriotic crafts, new fitness programs and some wonderful programs to keep you connected to your community. Be sure to participate in the Virtual 4 on the 4th on Saturday, July 4. Below are additional featured activities. Have a safe and enjoyable week!

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

Auburn's Virtual 4 on the 4th - Saturday, July 4. This program encourages 4 miles of any activity on the 4th of July. Participation is FREE! Click on the link to register. Participants receive a Finisher's Certificate.

The Hunker Down at Home Talent Show (PDF) - It's your time to shine! This talent show is open to all Auburn residents. Compete for prizes and a chance to perform live on the Auburn Ave Theater stage!! Submit your application on or before July 12.
- People around the world have been participating in the fun Getty Museum Challenge, so let's join them! The idea is to recreate a famous work of art with things and people at home. Find an artwork you want to recreate, stage a picture and then share it with us to be part of this fun challenge. Share your picture on Facebook or email us at arts@auburnwa.gov

IN & AROUND AUBURN
- Celebrate the 4th of July with the Auburn Symphony Orchestra! Music Director Wesley Schulz has curated a selection of orchestral songs about the American experience that will put you in a celebratory mood. The music is available as a shared Spotify playlist and more listening resources can be found at the Auburn Symphony's website.
- Bloodworks Northwest - While the return to public life is gradual, the need for blood donations continues, especially around the 4th of July holiday. The need for blood never stops. It takes 1,000 donors each day to provide a safe and reliable blood supply to patients in our community. Be one! Book your one-hour appointment at one of the Donor Centers or Pop-ups at a location convenient to you.

Virtual Happy Hour with Senior Center Staff - Join the staff Tuesdays at 4:00 PM. The topic for Tuesday, June 30 is 'If you could pick anywhere in the world to live for a year, where would it be and why?'

Senior Center Weekly Zoom Virtual Game - Next up is 'Bingo'. Join us on Wednesday, July 1 at 11:00 AM.

ADDITIONAL PARKS, ARTS & RECREATION UPDATES

The City of Auburn Parks, Arts & Recreation Department continues to take a phased approach to re-opening parks and outdoor recreation areas. On June 19, the state Department of Health approved King County’s application to move into Phase 2 of the State’s Safe Start Plan, which includes new guidance for recreation activities.
PARKS, TRAILS & MORE
PARKS and TRAILS are OPEN. Please practice physical distancing by staying 6 feet apart from others. We encourage park users to recreate responsibly to keep each other safe and help keep parks and trails open.
Game Farm Wilderness Campground is OPEN for groups of 5 or fewer outside your household.
The Auburn Golf Course and White River Disc Golf Course are OPEN.
Informal recreation on BALLFIELDS (softball, baseball, soccer), SPORT COURTS (tennis & pickleball), and other recreation areas such as Disc Golf, Skate Parks, and the Climbing Wall are ALLOWED for groups of 5 or fewer people outside the household. Enjoy your time, but please limit your stay so others may enjoy the fields and courts as well. Physical distancing must be observed during all activities. Organized sport leagues, tournaments and activities that have more than 5 people are NOT allowed.
PLAYGROUNDS are OPEN for groups of 5 or fewer people outside the household. Enjoy your time, but please limit your stay so others may enjoy the playgrounds as well. The WATER SPRAY PLAYGROUND at Les Gove Park remains CLOSED.
Mary Olson Farm is OPEN every Saturday & Sunday from 11am-4pm through August 30. To adhere to physical distancing guidelines, the Farmhouse and weaving shed remain closed.
Outdoor RESTROOMS are currently CLOSED. Park users are encouraged to GO before you GO to a park.
