Changes to the Pesticide Management Division
The Pesticide Management Division (PMD) is expanding and renaming to the Agricultural Environmental Services Division. The Agricultural Environmental Services Division includes five programs that previously comprised the PMD plus two new programs. These programs include Pesticide Compliance, Pesticide and Fertilizer Registration, Licensing and Recertification, Technical Services and Education Program, Dairy Nutrient Management Program, Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (NRAS), and the Cannabis Program.
The NRAS program researches agricultural land use practices, pesticide usage, agricultural chemicals in surface water and groundwater, soil health, and climate change. This research is used to support agricultural practices and protect the environment. The Cannabis Program includes the Agency-wide Coordinator, the Cannabis Lab Analysis Standards Program (CLASP), and the Cannabis Lab Accreditation Program.
We are excited to welcome these new programs into the Agricultural Environmental Services Division and are looking forward to future collaborations.
