Saturday at South Burlington Public Library
The next Conversation with a Councilor (formerly Coffee with a Councilor) listening session is scheduled for this Saturday, November 16, at a new location—in the Digital Lab of the South Burlington Public Library. Come chat with City Councilors Andrew Chalnick and Laurie Smith about your priorities for the upcoming FY26 City Budget or share your thoughts about South Burlington. Check our website or City News for a schedule of upcoming sessions.
South Burlington's winter parking ban is in effect from December 1 to April 1 between midnight and 8:00 a.m. The parking ban is in effect regardless of weather conditions. Residents must plan for alternate parking if they normally park on a City street or right of way. Vehicles left on the street may be ticketed or towed. Please call dispatch at 802-846-4111 if your car has been towed.
The overnight parking ban on City streets helps our Public Works crew maintain operations and public safety throughout the winter. Please help our drivers by removing all obstacles from streets, including portable basketball hoops.
The FY26 Budget process is underway! On December 2, the City Manager will present the proposed budget to the Council. All are welcome to attend this City Council meeting virtually or in-person.
The FY26 Budget schedule is available on the City's website and outlines the process through Town Meeting Day.

The South Burlington Public Art Gallery is hosting a solo exhibition of Winooski-based artist Julianna Brazill’s work titled “Recent Works,” on view from Tuesday, November 12, 2024, until January 24, 2025. The public is invited to the opening reception, which will be held in the South Burlington Public Art Gallery on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m.
“Recent Works” celebrates the ever-inspiring landscape of Vermont and Brazill’s experience living here for the past 10 years. Amid the decline of the planet’s climate and increasing natural disasters, Brazill’s realistic and imagined landscapes aim to remind viewers of what is truly at stake, as well as to “revel in the minutely unfathomable circumstances that have brought us to exist on this magnificent Earth in the first place.” In her comics, Brazill employs her humor to examine the often absurd and mundane facets of life.
Utilizing dip pen & ink, gouache, and watercolor on found papers, as well as digital illustrations, Brazill imparts a feeling of joyfulness, contemplation, and nostalgic comfort upon the viewer. Brazill is a full-time artist and illustrator living in Winooski and creates work for local businesses, including a bi-weekly comic for Seven Days newspaper.
