We are one week away from the November 5 General Election. If you have not received your ballot in the mail yet, please contact the South Burlington City Clerk's Office immediately so we can assist you.
How to Cast Your Ballot
We have a very limited supply of ballots in reserve, so we’re counting on people to bring the ballot that was issued to them and mailed to their registered address.
Remember that we can accept ballots at City Hall until 4:30 p.m. on Election Day. After that, you will need to bring your ballot to your polling location to have it counted.
Polls are open Tuesday, November 5, from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Ballots are not accepted after the polls have closed.
More Information
In preparation for the election, the South Burlington City Clerk’s Office will be closing Monday, November 4 at 12:00 p.m., and will be closed all day Tuesday, November 5 as all staff will be dispersed to the polls.
The City Clerk’s page of our website has a district voting map and details of voting districts by street should you need it.
If you have any questions ahead of the election, please call the City Clerk's Office at 802-846-4105 or email City Clerk Holly Rees directly at hrees@southburlingtonvt.gov.
General Election Ballots for November 5 have been mailed to every registered voter in Vermont through the Vermont Secretary of State’s Office. Wondering if the ballot you received is official? Click through to the City's website below for more information, or contact the South Burlington City Clerk’s Office.
Don’t Get Scammed
Neither the Secretary of State’s Office nor the South Burlington City Clerk’s Office will reach out with election needs through mass emails. Beware of phishing scams that look official and ask you to update your voter information. Do NOT open or click on links.
If you have any questions or concerns about ballots, mailings, or anything related to elections, please do not hesitate to reach out to:

Marky the Moose escorts Sue Dattilio to the dedication ceremony
On Tuesday, October 29, Rick Marcotte Central School and the City of South Burlington celebrated the unveiling of Dattilio Drive, the formerly-unnamed road connecting RMCS to Market Street. The school's students named the street in honor of long-time front office assistant Sue Dattilio.
Nearly 400 students, school officials, City staff, City Council Chair Tim Barritt, South Burlington Police and Fire, and, of course, RMCS's mascot Marky the Moose participated in a parade and dedication ceremony.

Recent Case of Rabies in South Burlington
The Vermont Health Department noted a recent case of rabies in two raccoons in South Burlington, Vermont. Please take steps to protect humans and pets from rabies. The public is reminded to never handle wildlife, to call a game warden if they see sick or injured wildlife, and to keep their pets up to date on rabies vaccines.
If you are bitten by an animal: wash the wound very well with soap and water and contact your health care provider. Follow all their instructions.
If your pet or farm animal was exposed to a wild or stray animal that might have rabies: contact your veterinarian. Pets should be vaccinated for rabies. State law requires dogs and cats to be vaccinated — even barn cats.
If you see a wild or stray animal acting strangely, or are concerned about a rabies exposure, call the Rabies Hotline (1-800-4-RABIES) or report it to your town’s animal control officer.
