  Hello South Burlington,
Town Meeting Day is one of my favorite days of the year! Across Vermont neighbors come together to vote on budgets, local elected officials, and other ballot items. These questions are at the heart of who a community is and who it wants to be. On behalf of your entire staff team, I want to thank you for the support of our Fiscal Year 2024 municipal budget, Bartlett Bay bond vote, and our final Tax Increment Financing bond vote. We are honored by your strong support and are excited to keep working on these efforts that will make our community more vibrant, resilient, and meet your expectations of municipal services.
I also want to take a moment to welcome Andrew Chalnick and Tyler Barnes to the City Council! It takes a lot of energy, passion, and courage to run for local elected office-not to mention serve on City Council. I want to thank all the candidates for stepping up and specifically Councilors Chalnick and Barnes for committing so much of their time and energy in the years to come to further our shared work of what is best for all South Burlington residents. And, of course, I must thank Councilors Thomas Chittenden and Matt Cota for their service to South Burlington.
And last, but certainly not least, a huge thanks to our City Clerk, Donna Kinville, for running another excellent local election and allowing for democracy to work in South Burlington. Donna, and her team of BCA members and election workers, get it done for our City every time and with a smile! Donna has posted the full election results here for your reference.
As always, if you have questions or ideas to share, please feel free to reach out to me at jbaker@southburlingtonvt.gov or at (802) 846-4100.
My best,
Jessie
