City Council Celebrates The Retiring State Representatives

On Tuesday, February 21^st, the City Council honored Representatives Killacky, Pugh, and Townsend for their service.  The Resolution adopted by the Council can be found here.  We thank them for their exceptional service to South Burlington and wish them the best in their political retirement!

South Burlington Police and Fire Participate in  Their Own “2023 Penguin Plunge”

A few weeks back was supposed to be the 28^th Annual Penguin Plunge.  But due to the negative-20-degree weather the event which includes jumpling into Lake Champlain was deemed unsafe.  Participants were asked to come up with a "Remote Way" to participate and that's just what they did!

Rabies Awareness

Given the growing epidemic of rabies in Vermont, precautions should be taken when handling and disposing of dead animals. The Vermont State Health Laboratory will test dead animals for rabies when there has been human exposure to a potentially rabid animal.  Therefore, the following guidelines will ensure the safety of all persons disposing of dead animals.

AARP VT and America Walks are looking for volunteers to participate in a distance-learning fellowship program that results in creating healthy, walkable communities throughout Vermont. Fellows will learn leadership development, community organizing, coalition-building, walkable community design, local public policy, and strategic planning.

The 2030 goals for transportation and land use include electrifying vehicles, reducing the amount of driving, and shifting towards dense mixed-use development. The RV Adventure

March 18 | 12-1:30 pm | Senior Center

Have you ever dreamed about getting an RV and just hitting the road?  Do you think that it would be fun to just own one for weekend camping trips?  Maybe you think it would be great, but you have questions, concerns or worries.  Please join our hosts, and RV owners Tom and Lori Piper for this timely opportunity.  They will share information based on their vast experience, answer your questions and get you ready for the road. 

This is not a RV sales pitch, rather an opportunity to learn from experienced travelers.
