BUT WHY Hosts Jane Lindholm & Melody Bodette
Co-hosts of the popular kid's program But Why: A Podcast for Curious Kids are coming to the South Burlington Public Library on Saturday, November 5th! Join us at 10:30am at the SBPL as co-authors Jane Lindholm and Melody Bodette present their two new books for kids, answer questions from the audience, and sign copies available for purchase on site from the Flying Pig Bookstore in Shelburne:
Fall Used Book Sale!
The Friends of the Library are preparing for a Fall Used Book Sale, November 3-5. Prices range from .50c to $2.00 for most items. Join the Friends for a $10 annual fee and attend Thursday night’s Member-Only Preview Night from 5-7 pm (yes, you may join at the door.) Or visit on Friday 2-5 pm or Saturdays 10 am-2 pm for great deals.
The Book Sale will be held in the 2nd floor Community Room where tables and shelves will be set up for browsing and shopping. Masking is not required but is encouraged.

You will want to be sure to come join our Community Pumpkin Carving event. You can bring your pumpkin(s) with you and we’ll supply all of the tools. Even better, you’ll leave the mess with us! This is a fun activity to do as you gather with other families in this fantastic space while you get into the spirit of Halloween.
Community Glow Walk
October 29 | 6-8 pm | Market St. Stormwater Pond
Due to its immense popularity, we are excited to share that our Community Glow Walk will be back for its third year and will be even bigger and better. Be sure to mark Saturday October 29th from 6:00-8:00 pm on your calendar. More details to follow as the date gets closer.

Sunday Basketball: Starting this Sunday 10/16 and continuing weekly (except for holidays/vacations) from 10am-12pm at FHTMS on Dorset Street. This program is for adults 18+ who are looking for a fast paced weekend basketball option. There is a $2 drop-in fee and a waiver must be completed on the first day attending. Please note that only program participants will be allowed onsite per our agreement with SBSD, children and spectators are unable to attend. All equipment is provided.
Monday Pickleball: Starting on Monday 10/24 and continuing weekly (except for holidays/vacations) from 6:00-8:00 pm at Chamberlin School on White Street. The intent of this offering is to expose more SB residents to this amazing sport by providing a fun, safe indoor location for players to learn, improve and enjoy the camaraderie of the group. This program is for adults 18+ who are not only new to the sport, but also those transitioning into the advanced beginner level. There is a $2 drop-in fee and a waiver must be completed on the first day attending. Please note that only program participants will be allowed onsite per our agreement with SBSD, children and spectators are unable to attend. Players should bring a pickleball paddle, though there will be a couple onsite or players to share if necessary. All other equipment will be provided.
