After moving into 180 Market Street in July 2021, we are learning about our great new community facility.  After some strong wind events over the last year, the solar panels on our roof experienced strain which led to weakening of the attachment system.

The East West Crossing - Walk Bike Bridge Design is Underway!  

The East West Crossing - Walk Bike Bridge design is underway!  Over 45 participants joined a bevy of bridge, path, landscaping, and environmental engineers, architects and planners to provide their ideas, thoughts and priorities on June 16 for this TIF District project that will bridge I-89 at Exit 14.

Good Morning Yoga

Morning Yoga

Start your day off right with Good Morning Yoga in the beautiful surroundings of Veterans Memorial Park. 

Come one, come all and the journey inward to align the body, mind and soul. Instructor Rose Bedard will guide you through an hour of Vinyasa yoga that will be centered around mindfulness, breath and celebrating all that our bodies can do. Come as you are in wearing whatever you feel most comfortable moving in. Layers are suggested. Meet at the Bandshell. 

The fee for all 12 meetings is $156 or you may choose dates a la carte for $13 each. This is a pre-registration recommended program, but will accept drop-in registrations.

SoBu Night Out Summer Series

Thursdays in July & August | 5-8 pm | Veterans Memorial Park

Who's ready for another summer of great food and great music? WE ARE!

Cancel your plans on Thursday nights starting July 7th until August 25th and join us at Veterans Memorial Park to indulge in some of the best food trucks in Vermont. We also have some amazing bands playing this year, see the schedule below. Bring the kids, friends, neighbors, and even the dog (on leash please).

Work Starting at Szymanski Courts

Szymanski Park

Site prep for the court renovations at Szymanski park will begin on Wednesday June 29th with the paving to begin on July 5th.  We are excited for these long awaited projects to be completed to allow for safe and predictable play for basketball, tennis and pickleball.

Wheeler Dog Park Construction Underway

Wheeler Dog Park

Fencing for the new dog park at Wheeler will be delivered on July 11. Ahead of the delivery, DPW crews have been busy preparing the site and Recreation and Parks staff have been busy getting the sign package and other amenities ready for fabrication.

Camping Out Under the Stars a Shining Success

Saturday June 25th at Veterans Memorial Park was filled with smiles, smores, and tents! We had our annual Great American Camp Out and enjoyed our time being spent with families, in a relaxing camp like atmosphere. We cooked s’mores over a fire and enjoyed playing corn hole, lacrosse, frisbee, and limbo!

While strolling the South Burlington Public Library's spacious second floor, you may have noticed a small dark room amidst the adult fiction and audio collections. With a name like Hall Communications Radio and NBC5's the Studio painted over the door. The new recording studio at the library has garnered much anticipation and excitement in the months preceding its opening.
