Blue Ridge Medical Center will be hosting the Nelson Community Health Fair on Saturday, July 18 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Tye River Elementary School (5198 Thomas Nelson Hwy., Arrington, VA 22922). Entry is free. This event offers a variety of resources:
- Sports physicals for Nelson students

HPV, Tdap, and Meningococcal vaccines for rising 7th and 12th graders

The Fountain Fund will be hosting One Stop Shop on Thursday, July 23 from 12 to 3 PM at the Jefferson School (233 4th St. NW, Charlottesville, VA 22903). This event is for all community members regardless of incarceration status to connect with resources such as mental health & substance use services, career counseling, education, legal aid, and health & wellness services. This event in particular with focus on youth services.
Join us at one of BRHD's local health departments for free Rapid REVIVE! Naloxone Training. Each event is free and will provide free naloxone to those who complete the brief training. Rapid in-home HIV test kits, free fentanyl/xylazine/benzodiazepines testing strips, condoms, lock boxes, and medication disposal bags will also be available. These events are open to everyone and occur on a monthly basis. No pre-registration required!

The Charlottesville/Albemarle Health Department (1138 Rose Hill Dr., Charlottesville, VA 22903) is hosting a free sexually transmitted infection (STI) Test & Go event on Tuesday, July 21 from 4:30 to 6 PM (or until capacity is met).
These free walk-in STI testing events are held from 4:30 to 6 PM on the 3rd Tuesday of each month. Testing is available for gonorrhea, chlamydia, HIV, syphilis, and Hepatitis B & C. Free safer sex items are also available. Testing is offered on a first-come, first-served basis with limited capacity. No treatment or exams will be performed at this event. For walk in clinics, vaccines will be given on a first come, first served basis with supplies limited by availability. Minors must be accompanied by an adult ages 18+. Parents should bring a copy of their child’s insurance or Medicaid card if applicable and immunization record. Uninsured kids are welcome and may be eligible for reduced cost vaccines!
