BRHD is hosting one last round of community health focus groups! We would like to hear from community members who:
- Live with health issues, specifically diabetes, weight problems or obesity, high blood pressure, acute or chronic stress, or mental health needs
- Face challenges accessing medical appointments or essential services
- Live in a rural area

Identify as Black or African American, Indigenous, Hispanic or Latinx, Newly Resettled or Refugee
Focus groups will be held online via Zoom in Februrary and last approximately an hour. Participants will receive a $25 Food Lion gift card. To register, email Kaitlyn Gentille at kaitlyn.gentille@vdh.virignia.gov.

Region Ten is offering a free Youth Mental Health First Aid course on Thursday, March 20 from 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM at the Region Ten Community Services Board (500 Old Lynchburg Rd., Charlottesville VA).
This course will teach you how to identify, understand, and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders. Participants will need to complete a 2-hour, self-paced class online BEFORE participating in the 5 hour instructor-led in-person course. Details for this will provided to registrants at least one week prior to the course.

The Piedmont Regional Education Program's Parent Resource Center and Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) are hosting the Life After High School Transition & Resource Fair on Saturday, March 22 from 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM at the PVCC Main Building Event Space (501 College Dr., Charlottesville, VA).
This is a free conference and resource fair to help prepare students and families in special education for life after high school. Free lunch will be provided to the first 200 registrants! Adults should RSVP via the adult attendee registration form, and students should RSVP via the student attendee registration form.
