💐Farewell to our HAI/AR Program Manager💐
Please join the HAI/AR Program in sharing a fond farewell and best wishes to Sarah Lineberger, our HAI/AR Program Manager who left VDH in October 2024. Sarah joined the HAI/AR Program as the HAI Epidemiologist in 2014 and was promoted to Program Manager in 2016. Under her leadership, the HAI/AR Program grew to over 40 team members, including adding Regional Infection Preventionists, enhancing epidemiological support, and establishing a team dedicated to antimicrobial resistance and stewardship. During the COVID-19 pandemic, she helped lead the Virginia COVID-19 Long-Term Care Task Force, working diligently to protect residents and healthcare personnel in long-term care facilities. She mentored four Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists HAI Epidemiology Fellows and helped grow partnerships with other state and national organizations working towards similar goals in preventing infections in healthcare facilities. Thank you, Sarah, for your dedication to safeguarding patients and healthcare staff in Virginia!
