The Piedmont Virginia Community College (PVCC) Community Health Worker (CHW) Course is returning for another semester!
This class will take place virtually on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00 - 7:45 PM, starting August 26 and ending December 17, 2024. Scholarship opportunities are available, and should be applied for prior to enrollment. Read the scholarship application instructions before you apply. Applications will be accepted through Thursday, August 15.
If you are already an enrolled PVCC student or not applying for the scholarship, enroll now at PVCC.edu/mypvcc. Search for course listing HLT 193.

The Family Matters Family Resource Center is hosting an Open House on Thursday, August 15 from 3:00 - 7:00 PM at their new home (115 Jefferson Hwy. Suite 101, Louisa, VA) and you're invited!

Did you know that Child Health Partnership (CHP) offers free developmental screenings for children in the Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Louisa localities? By utilizing the Ages & Stages Questionnaire (ASQ) and Ages & Stages Questionnaire: Social/Emotional (ASQ:SE), CHP helps parents assess their child's progress and provides recommendations to support development.
Parents can contact CHP by emailing Rosemary Heflin or calling 434-760-4215 for more information. Interested in learning how to guide parents through the ASQ and ASQ:SE screenings? Free training is available- contact Rosemary Heflin to get started.

CHP is also accepting self-referrals for their voluntary home visiting program to help families stay healthy, encourage development, and connect with resources as needed. This free program serves families in Albemarle, Charlottesville, Fluvanna, and Louisa. Parents can enroll through CHP's online referral form.
