Leesburg Police Department Launches Emergency Information Card Program

Emergency Information Card

Leesburg, VA (June 10, 2026) – The Leesburg Police Department (LPD) is proud to announce the launch of its new Emergency Information Card Program, a community safety initiative designed to help first responders quickly access important medical and emergency contact information when it matters most.

The Emergency Information Card allows individuals to record important details, including emergency contacts, medications, allergies, medical conditions, physicians, functional needs, and other information that may assist emergency responders when time is critical.

The card is particularly beneficial for older adults, individuals with medical conditions, those who live alone, and anyone who wants to ensure first responders have access to important information in the event of an emergency.

"Having accurate information readily available can help first responders provide appropriate care and quickly notify family members or caregivers during an emergency," said Chief Thea Pirnat. "This program is another example of the Leesburg Police Department's commitment to supporting the safety and well-being of our community."

The Emergency Information Card is designed to be completed and kept in an easily accessible location in case of an emergency. Depending on individual needs, the card may be stored at home, on the refrigerator, in a purse or wallet, in a vehicle's glove box, or in another location where first responders, caregivers, or loved ones can quickly locate it. Residents are encouraged to keep the card current and ensure family members, caregivers, friends, or neighbors know where it is kept.

To help protect the information, each Emergency Information Card is provided in a clear plastic envelope designed to keep the card clean, dry, and in good condition. The protective sleeve also makes it easy to store and access when needed.

Community members may obtain a free copy of the Emergency Information Card by visiting the lobby of the Leesburg Police Department, located at 65 Plaza Street NE in Leesburg. The department's public lobby is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, making the cards available at any time. The card may also be downloaded from the Leesburg Police Department website at LINK (https://bit.ly/LPDEmergencyCard).
