Extended Sidewalk Dining Program Returns Friday, May 1
The program will take place on Fridays through October 2.
Leesburg, VA (April 24, 2026) – The extended sidewalk dining program will return to downtown Leesburg on Friday, May 1.
South King Street, between Market and Loudoun streets, will be temporarily closed on Fridays to accommodate designated outdoor dining areas for participating restaurants. In addition, retail businesses within the closure area will also be permitted to display merchandise in front of their storefronts.
Extended sidewalk dining hours will be 5 to 9 p.m. The street closure will begin 30 minutes prior and reopen by 9:30 p.m. Designated on-street parking spaces will be available for food delivery and pickup on East and West Market Street, adjacent to the King Street intersection.
There will be no live performances or other outdoor entertainment, however, customers are encouraged to visit downtown shops while waiting to dine. Please note, the extended sidewalk dining program will not take place on May 22, July 3, August 7, September 4, and September 25. Additional blackout dates may be added. The program will also be cancelled in the event of inclement weather.
