Second Ida Lee Tennis Bubble Will Reopen Monday, February 9

The three-court bubble has been closed following a collapse during the January 25 snowstorm.

2022 tennis bubble

Leesburg, VA (February 5, 2026) – The three-court tennis bubble at Ida Lee Park will reopen Monday, February 9, following a two-week closure.

The three-court bubble, which was installed in 2022, has been closed following a collapse during the onset of the Sunday, January 25, snowstorm. Since the closure, the manufacturer of the bubble, Yeadon Domes, has made necessary repairs to the structure, and a safety assessment has been conducted ahead of a decision on opening.

All classes, contracts, and lessons regularly scheduled in this bubble through Sunday, February 8, are cancelled. Refunds will be issued for all classes, contracts, and lessons impacted by this closure.

The four-court bubble installed in 2007 reopened this week following a weeklong closure to address snow removal from the bubble and make minor repairs.

Questions about classes or reservations may be directed to Tennis Supervisor Jowita Snowden at jsnowden@leesburgva.gov, or by calling the Ida Lee Park Recreation Center at 703-777-1368.
