Leesburg Police Investigating Distribution of KKK Flyers in Downtown Area

Leesburg, VA (October 20, 2025) - On the morning of Saturday, October 18, 2025, Leesburg Police officers responded to a report of flyers distributed in the downtown area referencing the Ku Klux Klan (KKK). The flyers were found inside small zip-lock style bags, each containing rocks to weigh them down.  Flyers were located along Loudoun Street SW, S. King Street, and E. Market Street.

Officers canvassed the area and collected several of the flyers.  The Leesburg Police Department condemns the distribution of any material that promotes hate or intolerance within our community.  We are committed to ensuring Leesburg remains a safe, welcoming place for all residents and visitors.

Residents and business owners in the downtown area are asked to check their video surveillance cameras for any suspicious activity between the hours of midnight and 6 a.m. on Saturday that may help provide information about the distribution of these flyers.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Leesburg Police Department at 703-771-4500, or the Criminal Investigations Division at 703-771-6417 or by email at policeinvestigations@leesburgva.gov.  Information can also be shared anonymously through the Leesburg Crime Line at 703-443-TIPS (8477).
