Leesburg, VA (August 30, 2024) – The Leesburg Commission on Public Art (COPA) is pleased to announce a new art exhibit currently on display on the first floor of Leesburg Town Hall (25 West Market Street).
DaVinci Art Studio, a division of Arts for All Loudoun, provides opportunities for artists of all abilities to enjoy the multiple benefits of creating artwork.
Over 20 artists have their work on display, which includes drawings and paintings of landscapes, animals, and other sceneries. Most of the artwork has never been seen and is on display for the first time.
The public is invited to view the exhibit and meet the artists during an open house on Friday, September 6 and Friday, October 4, from 5 to 7 p.m. The exhibit can also be viewed Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. It will be on display through November 29, 2024.
Arts for All Loudoun, an affiliate of Access/VSA International for 35 years, is non-profit organization offering performing and visual arts opportunities, fully inclusive of people with disabilities. The DaVinci Art Studio program is the visual arts arm of AFA Loudoun and the DaVinci artists are a diverse group ranging in age from teens all the way to seniors, with a broad range of abilities and skill levels. Some artists are nonverbal, neurodiverse or on the autism spectrum, while others may have physical or cognitive disabilities. Some have been creating art for years while others are creating art for the first time. They all enjoy the positive effects of learning new art techniques and creating something from their own hands, as well as the social aspects of participating in art groups. To learn, donate, or purchase art, visit www.artsforallloudoun.org/davinci-art-studio.
The first-floor lobby and hallway of the Leesburg Town Hall features rotating exhibits by Leesburg and Loudoun artists. Those interested in having their work considered for a future exhibit should contact Leah Kosin, staff liaison to the Commission on Public Art, at lkosin@leesburgva.gov.
