Area Man Arrested and Charged with Felony Burglary with the Intent to Commit Murder after Incident at Public Defender’s Office

Riley Biro

Leesburg, VA (August 13, 2024) – The Leesburg Police Department has arrested Riley Biro, 22, of no fixed address, charging him with one count each of felony burglary with intent to commit murder and felony destruction of property.

Yesterday afternoon at approximately 1:10 p.m., the LPD received a report that Biro forcibly entered the secured main office door of the Loudoun County Public Defender’s Office at 201 Loudoun Steet SE in Leesburg. Biro reportedly was looking for a specific employee and was making verbal threats that he was there to harm the employee. Unable to locate the employee, Biro left the office prior to officers’ arrival.

After leaving the Public Defender’s Office, Biro entered the Loudoun County District Courthouse at 2 Church Street NE in Leesburg and was detained by Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies until LPD officers arrived.

Biro was transported to the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center, where he remains held on no bond. This incident remains under investigation.
