Leesburg Police Investigating Police Impersonation Robbery
Leesburg, VA – The Leesburg Police Department is investigating a robbery that occurred Friday afternoon in the 800 block of Edwards Ferry Road NE.
The victim reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m. while riding his bicycle westbound on the sidewalk, he observed a newer model grey Toyota Corolla with tinted windows pull up alongside him. The vehicle displayed flashing red and blue lights on its dashboard, so the victim stopped for it. Two males exited the vehicle displaying silver badges and approached the victim. During the interaction, one of the males took money from the victim’s wallet. The males then got back into the vehicle and drove away. The Toyota was last seen turning right onto Plaza Street NE.
The first subject was described as a Black male, approximately 6'02", with a beard, and a muscular build.
The second subject was described as a White male, approximately 5'09", who was clean-shaven, and had a slim build.
Both males were wearing grey shirts, blue jeans, and black exterior vests, and both displayed silver badges on their belts.
