 From its very beginning, the story of the United States of America has also been a story of immigration. This May, celebrate the stories of immigrants, both famous and lesser known, who have exemplified what it means to seek the “American Dream” with storytimes, crafts, history presentations, movie screenings and more.

 Students across Fairfax County are invited to celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month by participating in an art contest! We invite youth to draw inspiration from their families or their communities to portray the colorful, diverse county we share.
|
 For many immigrants to the United States, learning English and achieving official citizenship is a huge part of their journeys. Fairfax County Public Library has many programs and resources available free of charge to those who need them.
