Stuff the Bus returns for a one-day food drive. Fastran buses along with Fire Department trucks will be at several sites. Please support local nonprofit food pantries by donating nonperishables or gift cards.

Our Department of Neighborhood and Community Services is holding an open hire event for several positions at the Gerry Hyland Government Center in Alexandria. Bring several copies of your resume and interview for positions in School Age Child Care and recreation.
In the Garden - Digging with Worms (11 a.m. - noon)
Prepare your garden for spring planting by churning the soil like worms. Learn about the purpose of worms and take home a worm-themed craft at Colvin Run Mill in Great Falls. Registration is $10.
Diva Central Shopping Event (11 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Visit the Reston Community Center Lake Anne for its annual Diva Central prom and formal dress boutique event. This one-day shopping event is open to any middle or high school student who needs a formal dress, shoes, jewelry and other accessories. Everything is absolutely free!
Corn Grinding and Clay Pottery (1 - 3 p.m.)
Learn how the Powhatan Native Americans used plants and animals for medicine, groceries and clothing at Huntley Meadows Park in Alexandria. Grind corn, make a clay pot, master corn darts and go on a guided tour. Registration is $14.
Clara Barton and the Missing Soldier's Museum (3 - 4 p.m.)
Join us at John Marshall Library in Alexandria to learn about Clara Barton and her post-Civil War humanitarian effort to find missing men. Presented by staff from the Clara Barton Missing Soldiers Office, this program will explore how she helped families locate loved ones after the war.
