 Fairfax County Public Library is excited to announce a partnership with local PBS member station WETA to provide easy access to free video streaming services for FCPL’s visitors, customers and cardholders. The mission and vision of public television and public libraries are closely aligned – to inform, engage and inspire our communities with trusted sources of information and entertainment that respect a diversity of views, culture and heritage.

 For teens interested in arts and crafts, the library can be a second home – a place to where they can gather with like-minded peers to express themselves, both creatively and emotionally, through Fairfax County Public Library’s countless crafting programs.

 Throughout the year, FCPL offers local authors many opportunities to connect with fellow writers, enhance their skills and showcase their hard work. For National Novel Writing Month, let's take a moment and highlight these programs and resources.

Honor the history, culture and contributions of Native Americans with book discussions, presentations, crafts, performances, storytimes and more.
Multiple Branches All Month Long Various Times

Join two local authors for a reading of their new book portraying an unlikely friendship between a child and farmer, inspired in-part by their own family history.

Come be part of a wonderful celebration showcasing Fairfax County talent as you connect with local authors, browse locally written books and delight in family-fun activities.
City of Fairfax Regional November 15 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Enjoy a magical escape into the fairytale world of ballet as you delight in meeting Clara, the Sugar Plum Fairy and other characters from this well loved ballet.
Thomas Jefferson November 22 11 a.m.-12 p.m.

Brush up on your storytelling skills and join other adults as you take turns sharing (or listening to) ten-minute true stories in this afternoon program complete with refreshments.
Kings Park November 22 3-5 p.m.

Practice your SAT questions with this trivia game put together by the library's teen volunteers! In between questions, chat with other teens about taking the tests or get advice from those that took them already.
Chantilly Regional November 23 2:30-3:30 p.m.

Discover what a dream college means for you and get tips on finding the best fit out of thousands of schools in this program for high schoolers with a representative from The Princeton Review.
Oakton November 25 7-8 p.m.

Celebrate Thanksgiving with gratitude and giggles in this program for preschoolers including a specially themed storytime followed by a turkey hat craft and then a celebratory parade around the library!
Centreville Regional November 26 2-2:45 p.m.

Create the smallest, cuddliest bears imaginable (literally, they are one inch tall!) using felt, embroidery floss, a needle and hand sewing technique in this crafting program for tweens and teens ages 10 and up.
City of Fairfax Regional November 30 2:30-3:15 p.m.

Fairfax County is home to a large and thriving military community. Throughout November, library visitors can join us at branches around the county to connect with and celebrate our military neighbors.

Each month FCPL offers a hand-picked selection featured for unlimited use. During that month, the selection will be always available with no holds, no waiting. The featured eBooks can be used for reading with friends, as virtual book club picks or just because you like to read what we suggest!
