The Water Mine and Our Special Harbor
Saturday - Monday, Hours Vary
The Water Mine Family Swimmin' Hole at Lake Fairfax Park in Reston and Our Special Harbor at Franconia Park open Saturday. The family water park and spray grounds offer slides, flumes, sprays, showers, floatables and more.

Pet Supply Drive
Friday and Saturday, Hours Vary
Help pets stay with their families by donating new and unopened items to our pet supply drive, including dog and cat food, cat litter and pet toys. Find a list of drop off locations. You can also help by purchasing items from the Animal Shelter's Amazon wish list.

Animal Shelter Vaccine and Microchip Clinic (9 - 11 a.m.)
Get your pet vaccinated and microchipped without the cost of a veterinary exam at our Animal Shelter's Lorton Campus. Clinics are first-come, first-served and cash only.

QPR Suicide Prevention Training (1 - 2:30 p.m.)
Question, Persuade, Refer are the three steps anyone can take to help prevent suicide. Learn to recognize the warning signs, how to intervene and where to refer someone who is in crisis in this virtual training.
Sheriff's Free Safety Seat Inspections (1 - 3 p.m.)
Sheriff deputies will check to ensure your car seat is installed properly at the Target in the Chantilly Crossing shopping center. Each year, deputies find that more than 50% of car seats are installed incorrectly.
Help Your Child Succeed: Free Speech and Language Screenings (1:30 - 4:30 p.m.)
Our Health Department is offering free speech and language screenings for children at the Herndon Fortnightly Library. Speech and hearing screenings can catch problems early and help kids can get the support they need to succeed.
We All Dance the Horah (4:30 - 5:30 p.m.)
Sing and dance at our Jewish Heritage Month dance party for all ages at the Dolley Madison Library in McLean.
Campfire Fridays (8 - 9:30 p.m.)
Join us for an evening campfire at Burke Lake Park. We'll explore and practice stargazing. End the evening with s’mores. Registration is $12.

Twilight Boardwalk Stroll (7:15 - 9:15 p.m.)
Join a park naturalist for a guided walk along the forested paths at Huntley Meadows Park and experience the park as it transitions from day into night. Watch and listen for nocturnal residents such as beavers and owls. Registration is $10.

Spring Team Challenge (8 a.m.)
Compete in teams of two in an 18-hole best ball, scramble tournament format at Burke Lake Golf Center. Prizes will be awarded to first, second and third place and the team closest to the pin. Registration is $90 per team.
Drawing Workshop - Trees and Leaves (9:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.)
Learn how to create realistic drawings of trees and their leaves at Green Spring Gardens Park in Alexandria. Use the media of your choice. Previous drawing experience encouraged. Registration is $112.
'Green Your Lawn' Lawn Equipment Exchange Event (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Receive tips on how to reduce yard work emissions and improve air quality in your communities at the Ace Hardware at 10310-B Main Street in Fairfax. Register to trade in gas-powered lawn tools in exchange for new Ego Power+ mowers, blowers and trimmers.
Chef Cal - Knife Skills (10:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.)
Chef Cal returns with a session on knife skills at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. He will discuss types of kitchen knives and how they can be used.
Asian Pacific American Heritage Month Celebration (1 - 4 p.m.)
Join us at the Eileen Garnett Civic Space to honor and celebrate the rich and diverse cultures of Asia.
Community Plant Swap (2 - 3:30 p.m.)
Do you have extra seedlings? Bring your cuttings, seeds, seedlings, transplants, and plant and garden supplies for a community plant swap at the City of Fairfax Regional Library. Please ensure that your plants and cuttings are pest free.

Tea and coffee are the most popular beverages in the world and both have legendary pasts. Learn about the history, provenance and health benefits of these flavorful, and competing brews at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria. A traditional British afternoon tea will follow the program.

Join the Friends of Huntley Meadows Park for a morning bird walk. Following the walk, join the group for breakfast to compile the morning's bird list. All are welcome.
Farm Skills - Animal Caretaker (9:30 - 10:30 a.m.)
Get a behind-the-scenes look at all the hard work that goes into raising our farm animals at Frying Pan Farm Park. Tour our feed room, visit animal areas, meet farm animals and learn our different management practices to keep the animals happy and healthy. Registration is $10.
