Vernal pools are one of our parks most fascinating and elusive ecosystem. Join us after hours at Ellanor C. Lawrence Park as we hike and search for signs of new amphibian life. Learn about the life cycle and early development of local amphibians. End the night by making s'mores over a campfire. Registration is $12.

Bird Walk With a Naturalist (9 - 10 a.m.)
Identify native birds as you embark on a guided walk with one of our naturalists at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Both beginner and veteran birders welcome. Registration is $10.
Late Winter Garden Beauties and Their Care (10 - 11:30 a.m.)
Take a guided walk through Green Spring Gardens Park with curatorial horticulturist. Get design ideas, and learn eco-friendly care and garden tasks. Registration is $19.
Stuff the Bus (10 a.m. - 3 p.m.)
Visit the Annandale Giant supermarket to drop off food and gift card donations. All donations will benefit Annandale Christian Community for Action.
Spellbinders - Tales of Tails (11 - 11:45 a.m.)
Enjoy oral storytelling from countries around the world at the Hidden Oaks Nature Center. Attendees are welcome to share their own 5-minute story. Every child will receive a free book.
Bird Bingo (1 - 2 p.m.)
Explore the trails at Burke Lake Park and learn how to identify birds. Keep an eye on your surroundings as you fill out a bird bingo sheet. Registration is $8.
Wonderful Winter Wildlife (2 - 3 p.m.)
Read a storybook about animals and the unique adaptations that help them survive the winter at Riverbend Park. Then, take a hike to look for signs of winter wildlife or play an outdoor game. Registration is $8.
The Artist and Me - Women's History Edition (2 - 3:30 p.m.)
Read about a famous artist or two at the Martha Washington Library. Create your own piece of art work inspired by their style.
Women in History Costume Party (2 - 4 p.m.)
Celebrate Women's History Month with a costume party at the John Marshall Library. Come dressed like a woman from history, and enjoy socializing, making paper dolls and playing a game of women's history bingo.
