As we bid farewell to Diane at the end of this month, we reflect on her immense contributions to the Fairfax Food Council since she began working here in 2019. Diane has been a cornerstone of this coalition, dedicated and passionate about improving our local food system.
Her unwavering commitment has left a lasting impact on our community. From supporting the Council through the development of its strategic plan and recent structural changes, to fostering valuable partnerships, Diane's work has significantly advanced our mission. Her expertise and enthusiasm have inspired us all, making the Fairfax Food Council stronger and more effective in our pursuit of an equitable local food system that produces and provides access to nutritious, sustainable, and affordable food for everyone.
Diane will be greatly missed, not only for her professional achievements but also for her warmth and camaraderie. As she embarks on this new chapter, we extend our heartfelt gratitude and best wishes for her retirement. We have no doubt that she will continue to bring her passion and dedication to whatever comes next.

Today is the last day to make a nomination for the 2025 Live Healthy Fairfax Award! Nominate an individual, business, government or organization that has demonstrated exemplary, supportive leadership and action to improve the health and well-being of individuals, families, and populations in the Fairfax Community. Awards will focus on efforts in Behavioral Health, Healthy Eating, and Healthy Environment and Active Living.

Food For Others is looking to hire a Volunteer Coordinator. In this full-time position, the Volunteer Coordinator will work closely with leadership and warehouse staff members to ensure volunteers are deployed appropriately across the needs of the organization.

Calling all farmers, chefs, and small food business owners! If you're interested in selling produce/food at the Fairfax County Park Authority (FCPA) Farmers Markets, join the new vendor interest meeting on January 14, 2025, at 10:00 am. This will be a virtual meeting to learn about the FCPA's 10 Farmers Markets and the requirements needed to become a vendor.
Please register for the meeting even if you cannot attend so you can receive the recording.
