A Message from Major Ryan Lazisky

Dear West Springfield Community Members,

It is an honor to step into the role of Commander at the West Springfield District Station. Over the past 19 years with the Fairfax County Police Department, I’ve had the privilege of serving in a variety of roles that have prepared me for this new chapter. From beginning my career at the Franconia District Station to leadership positions such as Internal Affairs Bureau Commander, Assistant Commander of both the Major Crimes Bureau and Mason District, and my work with the Crisis Negotiation Team and the Criminal Justice Academy, each opportunity has strengthened my commitment to public safety and the community. Recently, I completed the Professional Executive Leadership School and the Senior Management Institute for Police, experiences that have further equipped me to serve this community effectively.

As I step into this new role, I am committed to building on the strong foundation of trust, collaboration, and safety that defines the West Springfield community. Together with the dedicated officers and staff at the district station, I look forward to creating partnerships, enhancing public safety initiatives, and ensuring that our community continues to thrive. I am honored to serve and eager to work alongside residents, businesses, and stakeholders to make a positive impact every day.

Want to be more engaged about what is going on in your district? Join us at our in-person Community Advisory Committee (CAC) Meetings. CACs enhance communication between residents and the FCPD and offer residents a chance to dialogue with members of their local police districts. Members are kept informed about significant safety matters in their neighborhoods and are encouraged to bring any issues or questions to the attention of local police commanders.
